Collingwood Birdsong Cottage is a small self-contained house in a private and organic forest-garden oasis.
Wake to an abundance of birdlife and an inspiring dawn chorus.
Enjoy a 5 minute stroll to Collingwood’s cafes, art studios, wildlife-filled estuary and a 5 km long sandy beach.
Ideal for a restful and creative retreat, or as a base to explore Golden Bay’s wilderness bush/forest tracks and endless beaches.
Your self-contained and comfortable holiday home away from home.
Birdsong Cottage is a well built and insulated 2 storey holiday home.
Recycled, natural timber features and simple creative touches abound, with a gently sustainable focus.
The downstairs living spaces are spacious and open-plan. You’ll find a full kitchen, dining room and lounge with a log fire for winter warmth. This space opens onto the covered deck and lawn for easy summer living. A great place to relax and enjoy the sun or shade, and the beauty of the wilderness garden.
Internal french doors off the lounge lead to a cosy bedroom with 2 single beds (low futon slat beds with comfortable inner-sprung mattresses).
Upstairs you'll find a sun and light-filled attic bedroom, with views of the tree-tops and native birds. This room has a queen slat bed with a comfortable inner-sprung mattress.
A small desk provides the ideal place for some contemplative writing or drawing.
The downstairs bathroom has a shower and a bath (with a garden and bush view). There is a separate toilet with hand basin nearby.
