With hindsight we should probably have opted to pay a little more elsewhere and had at least some creature comforts. The only creature comforts here are either in the bed, decidedly dodgy, or in the paddocks across the road. The best way to describe this place is through the sense of smell. Head West out of Cody and when you smell something pungent (I have no idea what it is) then you have arrived. The staff are friendly enough and unlike others we had no problems checking in and it is priced for value. Cheap but not cheerful. The rooms are cramped, grubby and noisy but the coffee is OK and the wi-fi worked. If all you need is somewhere to crash for a night, and you have no sense of smell, then it does the job. I could not recommend this place to anyone I like but I have several in-laws that I will encourage to give it a go.
Old style 'motor inn' where you park at door and all one floor; It is across from the rodeo grounds (nightly rodeo but quiet by 10:30 -not bothersome to us). TLC would go far here, no free breakfast; pet is $10 extra. Free standing bathroom sink so there is no counter for toiletries. Stayed 2 nights and our bed was made; but coffee packets, coffee cups, & water glasses were not replenished...had to visit office to get something to drink out of and more coffee. Rooms do have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee. No TV channel guide (written or in TV itself). If Yellowstone were our destination we'd NOT stay in Cody or Jackson ... too spendy for value.
I see multiple negative reviews, but our stay was perfect. We stayed for two nights. Checked in at midnight, and left at 4:30am to go visit Yellowstone. Closest hotel to the Cody Stampede. This hotel is close to WalMart for anything you might need. We were pleased with the stay. No negatives at all!!
We were looking for a relatively low room rate and we were pleased with Cody Holiday Lodge. All of the fixtures are in good repair and all the service was cheerful and courteous. Right across the highway from the Rodeo. Our dog was also welcome there and there is a waste station on the property for our poopy bags. We were lleased to be able to park very close to our room instead of having a long walk down a hall.
Best thing was the king bed was supper comfortable. Room was small and not so clean. Old carpet. Nice large tv...rodeo across the street was loud and on every night. Because of the bed might give it 2.5 stars. But surely not anything special.
After getting into the room, the 1st thing to hit you is the smell( thank goodness we brought air freshener). They need to air out these rooms before opening up for their short season.Well in our original room, the bathroom had NO KNOB to turn on the water for the tub/shower. We were then given another room with same accommodations.Open the door and had to kill a spider (one of a few during our stay). We were told by the sign on top of the microwave that the washcloths were rags that had been used for other things and that you can use them for bathing and cleaning your car's windshield. THEY SURE LOOKED LIKE IT!! YES, as someone else said in their review the soap for the tub is tiny. It's the size of your thumb and you only get 1 a day, we had 6 in the room. Thank goodness we brought our big bottle of body wash. There are no hooks to hang your clothes in the bathroom. The drawers in the t.v. stand FILTHY, we had to put towels down so we could lay our night clothes in them.It seems that the room was being remodeled but then stopped before finishing.Furniture outdated not dusted, floor looked like hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner, bedspreads very thin sheets and blankets, very old and the pillows were flat as a pancake. We asked about breakfast and was told there was none and hadn't been in a couple of years. We took a snack and wanted to sit outside at the picnic area. HORRIBLE, grass not cut and the ants had taken over.OH almost forgot, we almost missed the turn to go in to the "lodge".There are no outdoor lights and the sign doesn't light up. The outside of this "lodge" would look nice if someone would take the time to cut the grass and do a little sprucing up. But, lets not hope you have a fire, there is only one tiny fire extinguisher, and it is not located near your room. But even inside the room, there wasn't a single sprinklers, but a tiny smoke detector near the entrance of the room.Last few things,T.V. didn't change channels, couldn't open the fridge and AC comes on during the night SPOOKY.
Very disappointed in this room. Entered our room there was no towels or soap, the front desk acted surprised but did give me towels and soap. The night front desk staff were not friendly at all. We were only there for about 10 hours. Only needed a place to sleep. The walls must be paper thin, we heard the neighbors talking clear as a bell and he started to have a coughing fit, had to turn the TV up. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Very nice place. Great towels, which is not always the case with smaller motels! The problem I had was that I'd reserved a room with three beds, and the clerk gave me one with 2 and kept saying no, that's what you reserved. No I didn't. I kept telling her so and she finally gave me a key to a room with three beds...the one I'd paid for. The other problem is that for a room that supposedly slept 6 people we had coffee enough to make 4 cups. Other than the night front desk clerk a very nice place.
Very attractive motel inside and out. Appeared to be remodeled old motel with old floors. Only complaint was very loud squeaky floors, annoying. Could also hear squeaking floor in neighboring rooms. It did have USB connections to charge phone, which was helpful.
We checked in And went and looked at the room then went to the front desk and asked for our money back because the room was filthy and stunk. they would not give us our money back, service was horrible! Would not recommend staying there.
