For a touch of culture, visit the childhood home of William Wordsworth (0.5 miles), now a National Trust site, where peaceful gardens offer a lovely escape. Outdoor adventures are never far away, with the North Lakes of Bassenthwaite, Buttermere, Crummock and Loweswater all within 7 miles. Families will enjoy the Lake District Wildlife Park (7 miles), while thrill seekers can head to Whinlatter Forest (7 miles) for Go Ape or scenic cycling routes. Keswick (14 miles) is also within easy reach for boat trips and lakeside walks around Derwentwater.
