Disliked: Cleanliness
We were disappointed to find the place dirty. The restroom was not clean. There was hair on the toilet and in the shower. Yellow stains and drips were on the restroom walls and blinds. And there was mold on the shower curtain. The bedroom blinds had stains, and the microwave had food stains. It was unfortunate because the place itself was cute and we could tell the host took a lot of care to decorate for Christmas. We reached out to the host, and they acknowledged the place was not clean, but when they said they would discuss compensation with us, they did not and randomly sent 30. We reached out and told them this was surprisingly low for providing an unclean place (not as advertised). They then refunded us nearly the remaining amount for the cleaning fee—but had they been up front with how much they were comfortable refunding and explained they could refund the cleaning fee only, we would have felt like they understood the severity of providing a dirty place and cared about making that right. Instead they made it clear they weren’t giving us back all our money, which we never asked for. We are very appreciative of them refunding the cleaning fee, but we’re very disappointed that it was an unclean stay.
