For those living in Brisbane a perfect location for a short get away. Great views as you wind around the mountain on the drive to the lodge.Welcome at reception was basic due to number of people lined up to book in. Rooms are comfortable with basic ammenities. Loved the rainshower in the bathroom. Fabulous views from your private verandah although nil privacy from neighbours conversations. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant-Mandy's on the Mountain, good number of wait staff, and the views made the experience. Will definitely return when a quick getaway is needed again.
My fiance and I had our anniversary here and whilst we enjoyed the stay somewhat, there is definately room for improvement. We think the menu is far over priced as we paid $28 for an antipasto platter that didnt even come with a dip or tapenade of any sort but we improvised and poured over the olive oil that sat on the platter from some olives. There were 4x slices of deli salami we could have gotten from coles, also some capers, a handful of sundried tomatos that fell of your turkish bread finger before it even reached your mouth and 3 slices of coles mortadella that is basically devon, Five turkish fingers we faught over and some pickled carrot and couliflower that we just pushed to the side.. We grabbed a bottle of wine and headed for our room to get out of there as it was uncomfortable and you could here a pin drop! No music until someone remembered to turn it on and the young ones running the bar didnt have a clue what they were doing and were all delegating each other as to who to serve first. I dont blame them as they just need some management and encouragement to have a laugh/interact with customers rather than stand there seriously with their arms behind their backs like they are hand cuffed. The decor could do with an upgrade. As I sipped my wine and looked around the resteraunt I noticed a lamp or two not even turned on..we asked to go outside as it was awkward inside and there could have been a heater out there to make the environment more inviting but instead a waiter looked around to bring us a candle he nicked from out the back. Our room was mediocre with visible dust on the side table and radio and when you had a shower we used all of our towls to direct the flooding coming from the shower spraying out of the shower screen gaps towards the drain in the bathroom. So everytime after that we had to stand on wet towls in the middle of the night or freezing tiles. All in all I cant say we will ever go back there, we were up at 7am the next morning and home by 8am...
Great spot to kick back, relax an enjoy the bush surroundings. Very quiet at this time of year. Would love to have spent more time here and explore what the area has to offer. All the staff were friendly and helpful, hope to visit their again.
Very welcoming staff at the reception. Lunch was reasonably priced especially the main courses. Average range of alcoholic beverages especially beers. Entrees were a bit bready. The main course from the grill was good. Not impressed with the desserts. It took an hour to be served between the entree and the main course. Not happy about it. It was busy but still too long to wait.
Having heard how delicious the food was, we reserved a 12pm table for lunch on a Sunday. The views were spectacular. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was so bad, that the quality of food was overshadowed. Only half of our drinks order came out, we had to ask for the remaining drinks twice more. The cob loaf was delivered to the table with no knife to cut it. The children's meals we ordered were unavailable. The steak was served without a steak knife and one had to be requested. We waited half an hour after lunch and finally went and found some staff to order dessert. The children's dessert was brought out about 15mins later but after half an hour the three adult desserts still hadn't arrived. We went to ask and were told they would be out shortly. The desserts that were delivered were not what we ordered and when we asked why, the waitress didn't know. Upon further questioning of different staff, we were simply told that they were out of caramel and gave us passion fruit cheesecake instead. There was a birthday going on and the staff seemed extremely disorganised. No one seemed to know what was going on and, though the staff were polite, they appeared untrained, and overwhelmed. If the service wasn't bad enough, we were then charged for extra meals we didn't order. We paid top dollar for some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced.
My partner and I stayed at Clear Mountain Lodge for two nights. We stayed in a superior room, the room appeared to me on the modern side of things, there are two Queen beds next to each other in the superior rooms , the rooms don't have curtains but instead have blinds which let in a fair bit of light in the mornings due to poor design of how the blinds have been put up. Room service is available during dining hours with a surcharge of $5.00, our room was on the 3rd floor with a nice view over the lake with distance views of the glass house mountain, lovely for watching the sun set over the horizon while enjoying a glass of wine or two. Shower pressure is nothing to call home about, the facility has a outdoor pool and tennis court. All staff are lovely and friendly , buffet breakfast was amazing with many hot & cold options available. Overall a pleasant stay! Would stay again
Stayed at the hotel just after the Easter long weekend and the place was a ghost town. It looked like only a few rooms were being used and that made the place extremely quiet and relaxing. The view from the room we stayed was amazing and the rooms themselves were very presentable and clean. The staff were friendly although seemed quite disinterested as I suspect there was so few guests staying at the time. Only point to note was that most rooms were a long way from where you can park the car. If you had any mobility concerns would recommend to try and get a room as close to reception as possible. Overall a pleasant stay and perfect if you are looking for somewhere to relax with some wine and cheese watching the sunset.
I absolutely love this property, the drive up through the mountain views are so relaxing and once at the property the staff, grounds and amenities are spectacular, I've stayed many times but only for one night at a time, I truly need more time as its always hard to pack the car and checkout.
Really enjoyed sitting with workmates outside of work. Quiet yet busy. View is lovely. If cold or rainy eat inside but really great if you can go outside. Loved it! Will return yet again!!! Just would be good if they did barista style coffees as an added benefit.
We loved it. Rooms were clean and modern, staff friendly. The food was the standout though. We loved our dinner at lakeside and then buffet breaky in the morning. The quality of the food was really good. Wonderful stay, thank you!
