Tucked under the eaves of an attractive residence, close to the ski slopes, this charming 2nd-floor apartment offers an idyllic alpine base at any time of year.

The apartment, for 4 people, is mainly built of wood which makes it both cosy and contemporary. The open-plan living area has an attractive pitched ceiling, with wonderful mountain views from the attic-style windows. The sitting area is furnished with a sofa, armchair and a flat-screen TV. The dining table seats up to 6 people. The galley kitchen makes cooking a breeze as it is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.

Bedroom 1: The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and glass door out onto a private balcony with glorious mountain views.

The apartment is in the heart of the charming resort of Claviere, which offers many different options for après-ski entertainment to suit all budgets.

Overall, very good. Some things to be aware of.

The location is perfect. A 2 minute walk to the main slope where the first lift is located along with bar, cafe and ski rental. We had a rental car and found it easy enough to find parking on the main street for free. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Useful utensils in the kitchen, towels and sheets on the beds. The bathroom is clean, the shower is great. There are some books etc. available which the kids enjoyed. There is no wifi in the property. There is a public network but the signals is too weak in the apartment, so be prepared to hotspot. I did text one of the phone numbers on the info sheet but didn't hear back.When you walk into the building, it smells of stale smoke. The apartment didn't really smell but when we got back we noticed our clothes did have a bit of a smokey smell. It wasn't a huge issue, but just worth knowing. The upstairs room with the 2 single beds is great for kids. If you're an adult sleeping up there though, the beds are very creaky and there's limited headroom.Overall, it's great value for money.
