Wonderful hotel, with a staff that was more then happy to help!

The exterior is a little rundown looking, but the interior looks like it was refurbished within the last few years. The room is clean and neat. Overall, a nice place to stay.

We selected The Riverview Inn for our wedding night location. Originally, it was going to be the site for our wedding reception too, but we went with a smaller ceremony at a family home. We were excited that the suite would have our name on it (The Montgomery Suite)! After travelling from Georgia and spending the weekend with family and celebrating, we spent our last night in TN looking for some peace and quiet. We ended up going with a standard king room. When we arrived, my husband was having some discomfort in his chest. The front desk agent helped us locate the nearest ER, even printed out directions. We got back late and the comfy bed, plush carpet and peaceful room was a welcome sight. We slept like babies and the noon checkout let us sleep in just a bit. We were refreshed, but sorry to leave. We're already planning a trip back!

Our trip didn't start well, when I informed the clerk we'd be paying cash and putting a credit card down for incidentals... and he demanded an extra (hefty) CASH deposit as "security." Given that I only HAD exactly that amount remaining on hand for our weekend event, I protested, as I'd never HEARD of such a practice -- and I haven't. What in the world was the credit card for? There's far more security in that card than in my meager cash! The fellow ultimately relented "this time," he said, "but that's our policy." Well, it's a lousy one. The room was old, the air system unpleasantly vacillating between chilling and muggy (we couldn't seem to find a happy medium) and the beds among the least comfortable I've experienced (as a disabled person with serious back problems) in the past decade in a hotel charging similar prices. The shower in the morning left me subject to every flush or faucet movement in every other nearby room, meaning I was scalded twice and frozen half a dozen times before I could complete a simple five-minute shower. The room DID have a small refrigerator, which was a bonus, but at that point, it was rather too little too late. The meager and mostly cold continental breakfast offerings further reduced our enjoyment. We won't be back. This COULD be a very nice hotel, with some simple attention to detail -- and a little common sense. Good luck.

The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. They provided great restaurant suggestions and helped with "comfort" requests during our stay.

Nice stay and would have had a great view but couldn't see out the windows. Dirty and had water between the class.

Very pleasant hotel, attractively decorated. Comfortable room. Good coffee maker - not the chintzy kind! Laundromat a big bonus for us.

Stayed At Hotel Overnight For Work. Very Comfortable And Clean. Nice Amenities And Great Breakfast. Only Downsides Were Outside Appearance Of Building Which Windows Were Dirty And Had Moisture Between Panes Which Made It Difficult To See Out Of Room. Exterior Of Building Itself Needs Updating. Carpet Was Old And Bunching.

The stay started off with a negative. Upon arrival, we were told we had no reservation. The staff made every effort to confirm our prepaid reservation . They gave us an upgrade in room size due to the problem. It took some time and confirm our reservation. The hotel never recieved the notification initially. Shame on ****. Our stay was made very enjoyable by the staff. We would definetly stay there again.

We were visiting our daughter who attends college at APSU which was walking distance from the hotel. We were able to spend the day with her then enjoy a late day swim with the little one. The pool water was on the cold side though, so we didn't swim long. The room was clean and comfortable. Would stay there again.

The hotel itself is charming but our room...not so much. The beds seemed small and were not very comfortable. The bathrooms reveal the hotel's age and won't get top marks for cleanliness. We survived and all was fine for one night, but I booked elsewhere on a follow-up trip. The staff was very friendly and professional. Nice area and close to the riverfront also very close to Austin Peay. Okay stay but no plans to re-book.

Riverview has a wonderful location. My room looked out over the river and it was beautiful. It was noisy, but then it was homecoming weekend for APSU, so what would you expect. They are in the process of remodeling and it certainly needs that...but everything was clean and everyone was nice...

Convenient to university, downtown, & retail sites. Room was well maintained; staff was appropriately helpful.

It was not as nice as I expected just ok. The room needed some work.

Loved it. The fragrance of the hotel was refreshing and all other amenities were great.

I liked the location of the hotel. It wasn't far from the mall or places to eat. The room was very clean. The staff was helpful on info. Overall, the price was excellent for the hotel stay. I will stay here again when I come to visit. I would recommend this to friends and family.

[...] I also thought b/c it was a nice hotel I shouldnt have no problem sleeping but i was wrong the people next door were fighting all night

walking distance to old town tn, walking distance to the riverwalk, great view of riverwalk from our room
