The lobby of the hotel is lovely but it stops there. After checking in we went up to our floor and immediately were conserned. The carpet is falling apart, walls and doors and ding up and desperate need of paint. Upon entering our room you could smell old cigarette smoke. There were burns in the carpet and bathtub. And it was supposed to be non smoking. The worst though was the MOLD! There was a water leak but the wall was never repaired. It went through the bathroom and bedroom wall. The a/c unit had also leaked and cause more mold. We quickly went back down to notify the staff, who informed us they had no idea about the mold.... The second room was better and remodeled but the hall was still in poor shape. The pool and spa are very difficult to find. There is no functioning ice machines although there are still signs for it. Would not recommended this hotel, needs some serious repairs!

The hotel is in a good location for the Bunratty Castle and Park. It was clean and the staff friendly. We arrived there a little after 3 for check in and our room was not ready yet. It took about another 30 minutes.

Very attractive hotel. Wonderful staff. Very accommodating! Great restaurant. Nice setting. Comfy beds!

This hotel is what you think of when staying in Ireland. More traditional setting, with caring staff. This is where I call home when I go to Ireland, they make you feel welcome and accepted into their family! Thanks for a good stay - see ya soon!

This hotel was right across from Bunratty castle. Bunratty was my favorite experience from our entire trip! Great castle and quaint little village. The hotel was beautiful and the front desk staff was wonderful! The wifi was spotty and the staff in the dining area weren't the friendliest. It was a good experience overall!

The primary reason I booked at the Bunratty Castle Hotel was because they provided a shuttle to Limerick airport. When I checked in I was told this was not the case and they would book me a taxi. They forgot, which wasn't too important because I only had to wait about 10 minutes the next morning, but it did cost an extra $20. Luckily, I booked using Orbucks or it would have been a really expensive mistake. What they lacked in promised service, was more than made up by the hotel's location just across the street from the actual castle itself. I thoroughly enjoyed touring the castle and the strolling around the village. I was unable to take advantage of the free breakfast because of my early flight, but the food in the pub was decent (great chips).

Pretty poor showing in lots of important items. Primarily - lousy bed, cheap, hard. It was quite warm and the AC remote was missing. As they had kept putting us off about why there was no wifi, we didn't even bother to ask desk. Front desk man in morning refused to print our boarding passes for us. Hotels always do this if they don't a computer with printer. 3/4 lights in the hallway near our room were broken - only bare bulb. faucet in bathroom broken. Scratchy, unpleasant towels and sheets. Breakfast adequate. not as good as smaller hotel we stayed in in Cobh. We stayed here years ago; it was great. Big disappointment. We won't return.

We booked and paid for a deluxe room. When we got into the room the toilet didn't flush properly. We addressed the issue at the front desk. The clerk told me I must not know how to properly use the two-button system for flushing. (Mind you, we'd been in Ireland for ten days and had plenty of experience with this type of system.) She insisted it was my error. The only correction?-downgrade our room (but not the price) so the "tourist" could have a handle flush toilet and poor water pressure. The front desk treated us like transients with little courtesy. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is a worthwhile stop but this hotel is worth passing up.

Our hotels were clean and cheery. We found the staff to be pleasant and very willing to help in any way possible.

The hotel rooms were very nice, clean, and pleasant. The only criticisms I have are regarding the pub and the breakfast. We tried to get a sandwich in the pub after we arrived and the wait was very long. They need more help during busy times. Breakfast was buffet and only offered limited choices, only scrambled eggs, not prepared any other way, no pastries etc. The elevator was also broken when we arrived.

Last night in Ireland. Location convenient to Shannon Airport for car return,check-in etc. Hotel beautiful across from Bunratty Castle. Cows grazing in pasture behind hotel.Service and staff excellent. Perfect place for last night in Ireland.

I enjoyed my stay at Bunratty. The location was great and the area around the hotel was unbelievable with a lot to do.

The Bunratty Castle Hotel provides comfortable, spacious rooms with an adequate full Irish breakfast. The pastries and fruit were excellent; the remainder was standard hotel breakfast fare. Service by the wait staff was exceptional. The in room bathroom was the largest and nicest of the five hotels we used during our visit. The hotel provides hourly courtesy pick up and delivery van service to Shannon air port, about fifteen minutes away.

Bunratty Castle Hotel was very comfortable, the room was plenty large enough for the two of us. The staff were helpful and very polite. We only snacked in the bar, but service and food were great! And, the setting, oh the setting, so calm, quiet and comfortable! And, you could walk to the oldest pub in Ireland. And, it was convenient to the airport!

My husband and I flew into Shannon. The hotel was only about a 15 minute ride if that. It is located on the grounds of the Bunratty Castle and Folkpark. The Folkpark is worth the stay right there! Amazing. We had a ball. Dirty Nelly's is also on the grounds. Had a blast there too. The hotel was extremely clean and beautifully kept. Bathrooms...top shelf! The only downfall was the breakfast, which was for free. I did not like it. But, then again I am picky...Hotel staff...great!

My husband and I drove our rental car to this hotel from Shannon Airport. It is a short ride and a nice way to break into the driving and experiencing the country. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. The room and the hotel itself were very clean. There is a nice pub in the hotel. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and enjoyed an outside night cap with a view of Bunratty Castle at night. Location is excellent if you decide to attend the Bunratty Feast or Traditional Irish Night festivities as there is no need to move your car, you can walk! Breakfast buffet is included.

The room was quite large and comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The grounds were beautiful and there were several restaurants within walking distance. Bunratty Castle and folk park were also right on premise. There was easy acess to the major hwy I recommend this hotel

We checked into the Bunratty Castle Hotel as the last night of our trip before we flew out from Shannon the next morning. The room was comfortable and nice appointed. The check in process was easy and they were able to tell us (and check on) the hours and availability for dinners at the Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Our only concern was the breakfast that was served in the morning as we felt the quality was below standard with the rest of the hotel

With the caliber this hotel represents,it did not have a concierge nor a staff that was knowledgeable about other sites to see or entertainment in the area. Bunratty Castle and park takes care of one day, but we were lost about what to do after that, and we couldn't find out much information. There were brochures in the lobby, but we needed to speak to someone, because we had questions. This may be minor in the big picture--it appears the hotel was booked regularly by a CIE tour, which is a good thing, and therefore probably would not need a concierge-- but for us it was very frustrating not to be able to talk to someone who knew the area.
