Fellow travellers My wife and I feel we were lucky to find a room available in the hotel Santa Cecilia.,having not booked ahead.Alas it was for only one night as we were passing through. The Hotel is only a few minutes from town centre,Museum and Cathedral. As is our custom we prefer to eat out and there are plenty of restaurants and all offer varied reasonable menus at fair prices.so we cannot comment on Hotel food.Once again breakfast and parking are extra (we were informed by the receptionist of alternative and cheaper parking!!). It is Blue line parking, which nis not too bad if you arrive in the evening, since meters are not operative from 8pm till 10 am next morning, consequently we were parked almost outside the door for the night. Booking in was a pleasure with a very attentive staff. We were on a budget run through southern Spain. The cost of 50 euros was a gift when you realise the quality of the rooms,wi fi,air con, stocked mini fridge etc.We were in room 214 which had sun patio overlooking the very inviting and clean hotel swimming pool... Great place!Great staff! Would happily revisit this hotel and recommend to one and all. Bugsie Wray
A great hotel for a weekend getaway. Right in the city centre, really comfortable beds and friendly staff. We could keep our car in its car park for 10€. We'll undoubtely stay there again when we visit the city in a near future.
We stopped here one night on our way home. Nice clean rooms and polite staff. Very close to the old city center which is cute with nice tapasbars. Parking in front of the hotel. Absolutely recommended for a stopover.
Excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the main square, cathedral, and shopping area. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Everything is easily accessible as this is a smallish city with an abundance of traffic-free areas. The hotel itself offers an underground car park at 7euros per 24hrs [the cheapest I've found yet in a Spanish city-centre hotel]. The room was spacious and well appointed with a small balcony, hardwood floor, 21" TV, hairdryer and fridge. The A/C worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was well kept and clean and the staff were pleasant. The free wi-fi worked in all areas. Unable to comment on the cafeteria or restaurant as we didn't use them. We stayed for three enjoyable nights and would certainly book again for a return visit.
Stayed here for one night 4/5 August on route to Burgosvery friendly reception on arrival good to see a receptionist who smiles. Pleasant cafe with again staff that makes you welcome. Good restaurant with a very edable menu del dis for dinner again served by a waitress who was attentive and smiled. We had a junior suite which was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom with a large shower cubicle with overhead shower and forward facing jets. All in all a very pleasant stopover and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel itself is fairly old, and could use new fittings and some newer decor. The place is clean though, well airconditioned, neat and welcoming. The staff were excellent and very friendly. There was an issue with the wifi one afternoon and they stayed on the problem until it was fixed, even giving a cheer when my device finally connected. My room had a spacious but unfurnished balcony overlooking the pool area. The pool was closed, which was a pity as there was a heatwave in action when I stayed. The bed and linen was comfortable enough and clean. The bathroom a little cramped, but not terrible. I only tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant, and it was perfectly nice.
This hotel is centrally located and very accessible to the primary plazas in Ciudad, the main churches, and the university. Staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, and the rooms are on the high-end for cleanliness, features, and space ... solid, three- and even four-star quality depending on what your rating system is. The lobby is large and comfortable for extended free wifi use, and the bar cafe friendly and good quality. The free breakfast has a significant variety of foods including meats and cheeses, pastries and cereals, warm items and juices. But beware the coffee from the machine ... Even the non-snob will want to spend the extra 1.20e at the bar to get real cafe con crema ... On the downside are the thin walls between rooms ...
This was our second stay in Ciudad Real and we wanted an hotel closer to the citys center and Plaza Mayor. The reception staff was friendly and helpful to get us our room, since we were walk ins. The reception lobby was spacious and cool, which was a great relieve from the outside heat. We were put in a room in the fourth floor. The room was tiny and had two single beds with really cheap or old covers and pillows that were very uncomfortable. The Air Conditioning was not working. It was running but the only thing it produced was noise and a ever so slight breeze if we held our hand against the air outlet. We had to open the window to get some of the night fresh air and get some "sleep". The mini bar refrigerator was hot inside. I mean hot. As if it had spent the whole day sitting in the sun unplugged. We found a lighter on the windows aluminum frame, probably from a previous guest. This is speaks volumes on the kind on service the rooms get between stays. The bathroom was OK but the towels are another example that this hotel hasn't seen any investment since it opened. They feel old and harsh. The hotel has a swimming pool. Its small and only 98cm deep. But that would be fine. Unfortunately as we arrived in our room, which had a view to the pool and the hotels back, and after taking care of our little boy we looked outside and there was a dead pigeon floating in the pool. The seems to be an abandoned building adjacent to the hotels pool area which has been taken over by pigeons. Being from Lisbon where the are millions of pigeons I know that this proximity with the winged creatures would certainly mean bird poop shower. Didn't try the restaurant or the breakfast buffet.
We happened on this Hotel by accident, just a quick overnight stay on the way on to Santander Wow what a lovely location right in the heart of the City, fantastic parking , easy to find, lovely friendly staff, clean well appointed rooms, Big bonus of a pool (yes in the middle of town ) very welcome in 37 degrees , really nice breakfast by anyones standards, and last of all the price 49 euros inc breakfast and parking..We will return
I was staying in St. Cecilia about 4 times while visiting Ciudad real. The service is always friendly and accommodating, trying to find the best suitable option. When arrived and due to large booking overtaking most of the hotel and my room wasn't available I was given junior suit without any hesitation (may stay was not just unaffected, but even better:) )The views from the windows are not the best, but it's up to you to get out and find something interesting to look at if you're visiting as a tourist:). Cleanliness and room facilities without any issue. Would only recommend.
