We stayed on a tent site and were so very happy with the accommodations. Our dogs were welcome and the host is very gracious. He is excellent at communicating as we were arriving very late on a Friday night and he did everything to ensure that our check in was smooth. The dogs were free to explore and our fellow campers were very cordial. I lived the proximity to both Crystal River and Rainbow Springs State Park. We ate at Swampy's which was delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, we had an excellent experience and plan on going back again every time we head up to that area. :)

Electric, Water for the campsites was far/shared
I had a decent stay at the property, and the host was responsive. I think the description of the campsite should be improved to better reflect the water/ electric situation. There was 1 extension cord reaching 1 of 3 campsites, so not all 3 campsites have access to the 1 plugin extension cord. Water is about 250-300 feet away from the garden hose at the main house. There is 1 toilet bucket for all 3 camp sites. There is 1 5-gallon bucket of water by the bucket toilet. I didn't feel comfortable using the shared bucket toilet and shared water bucket. If you plan to camp here, be self-sufficient with your electric/water needs/ and perhaps bring your own cassette toilet.

Stayed here with my family while we were exploring the Crystal River area. The campsite was private and had plenty of space.

Star Heaven
What a gem we found! Not only were the host accommodating and friendly but the view of the stars was out of this world. Manatees are my favorite animal and so we had been trying to plan a trip near the springs for weeks and kept coming into roadblocks. When we booked our booking here, the website made an error and double booked the site. These guys were so AMAZING that they created a BRAND NEW campsite just for us, just so that we could have our Manatee Trip and not be sent home. I was having a day and it just made my entire heart light up when we found out that they worked hard all day to put the site together for us. We went on a new moon night and the view of the stars was out of this world at this lot. I haven't been blessed to see so many constellations since my camping trips in the back country. I would have killed for a telescope, there were so many planets directly in sight and pretty much ZERO light pollution, an astronomers dream come true. This couple is outstanding and they have a wonderful little inclusive "animal farm" with some super cute animals. I just love how they all co-exist together. This property is pretty bomb and it is only going to get better, they gave us a tour of the area and mentioned some of the expansion areas and new campsites that they were brainstorming about and I just can't wait to come back and see the progress. And book the future campsite we talked about in the back :) that spot was great! It was so convenient and close to both Rainbow River and Crystal River it made our kayaking/manatee/star gazing trip, unforgettable. We also all learned a wonderful lesson with our cool neighbors...heavy trucks sink in sand :P! Super solid camping spot, definitely recommend planning the trip around the moons schedule to see the stars!
Oh I almost forgot, these guys rocked so much they set us up with an outdoor movie theater where we got to watch one of my favorite movies ever "The Art of Travel" with a beautiful fire and the background of the gorgeous night sky. Honestly this was one of the best self love dates I have planned for myself in a long time. Super grateful to these two for going above and beyond for their guests and their awesome son who hooked us up with firewood!
