Generally this is an amazingly quiet and relaxing place to stay. It is an old Trulli village that had been lovingly restored to a high standard while resting many original features and a cosy feel. It has nearly everything that we expect- lovely rooms, bathrooms, great shower, comfortable bed, lovely grounds - pool and restaurant. It’s a great base to travel from but you’re best off with a car. The only slight downer was the lack of facilities for a hot drink in the room. There’s always room service though. All of the staff are very friendly and eager to assist, which is excellent.

Really lovely stay in the Trulli hotel, a small family feel to the hotel but everything you could need for a really relaxing stay. You will need a car to get around but it is a good base for exploring different bits of Puglia and the trulli are really beautiful.

Loved everything about this hotel and would 100% recommend! We stayed at the property for 2 nights and wished I would have stayed a week! It was a perfect little haven nestled in a quiet area but perfectly located to visit all local towns around Cisternino. The hotel had everything you could want and more, from incredible cave style rooms, to a fabulous pool! The breakfast buffet was wonderful and had many options to cater to a variety of tastebuds. We had a lunch on site one day and couldn't believe how fresh everything was! Borgo Canonica is a MUST stay on your visit to Puglia if you want to visit a unique and luxurious property.

We had an amazing stay the the hotel. We were there with our 14 week old baby and the staff couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating for us. The grounds, especially around the pool are beautiful, and the location is so peaceful. All of the food was of an incredible standard - very fresh and expansive breakfast offering, and incredible food served for dinner each evening, along with perfect wine recommendations. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly enough.

The hotel is truly amazing. Staff is excellent as are the rooms and amenities. It is in the middle of no where, which was great for us. You need a car if you stay here. The rooms are well appointed. Rooms and suites are a short walk from the reception and some rooms have steps inside to get to the bathroom, so be sure to check with the reception before you book.

Amazing, though no little extras

Staying in a trillo was a highlight of the trip, this place is so well thought out, clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and there was a very helpful and friendly receptionist who was lovely. The rooms are amazing. The whole place feels like a fairytale. It’s best to think of this as a chill day or two for by the pool and it helped us unwind after matera and travelling. My only disappointment - it was a 30th birthday week for my partner and I had emailed ahead, and mentioned on check in. There was no extras like a note or fizz or at dinner and this was a shame - mainly because we were spoilt in matera with a bottle of fizz and a glass sent by the hotel at dinner. There are also no standard things like free jugs or bottles of water in the room (you can buy only) and again no welcome gift / fruit or token small bottle as you would expect and generally find from this price range, This probably needs looking at and would make the stay even better.
