Quiet and peaceful

What can I say about this hotel it’s set in the beautiful Douro valley on the river front surrounded by the mountains, in Porto Antigo, the staff are very friendly and helpful the bar is well stocked and the food is very good. We would definitely recommend it and will return in the future.

Nice hotel with room facing river. Parking is a challenge at peak times since at marina and narrow driveway; however, ended up with street parking both nights. Restaurant requires reservation. Area to reach hotel is beautiful but be aware rural narrow roads. Overall, nice quiet stay outside city.

The property is beautiful and straddles the Douro River. The roads are not really walkable - narrow, no sidewalks. The breakfast was great. The restaurants lunch and dinner was mediocre. The restaurant did face the beautiful Douro River and had tremendous views. The rooms were nice but not special.

Location on the river and scenery were lovely. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, however could do with having tea and coffee making facilities in them and also having an iron and ironing board available (the reception said they did not have any at the hotel!).

This hotel is beautiful ! The hotel staff was absolutely amazing ! Manuela made our trip , she was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to help us get to the hotel , emailing us train info , contacting a cab to pick us up at the train . The day we wanted to tour the area she once again organized transportation and recommendations for the area . Her English was perfect ( very helpful for the Americans) The view from this property where gorgeous ! The weather was a bit cool so we didn’t get to use the pool but it couldn’t have looked more lovely. Great food and great service. We will be back

River Oasis along the Douro

A beautiful oasis along the Douro River! Hotel staff was attentive and went above and beyond when we had questions about activities or services. The staff and location make this place a perfect base for a visit to Douro. Train station is nearby and you can take day trips in many directions. We will return!

Stunning view of the Duoro valley

There is notjing better than a great coincident in life. I arrived to the Duoro valley without any goal or reservation, i was just enjoying the beautiful scenery drive until i stumbled across this beautiful hotel. There is no match for its location now the view. The service was outstandung and so the food.

Incredible views from a privileged perch

Stayed here for two nights and very much enjoyed the incredible view from our room with a balcony overlooking the Douro River. Staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet was generous with very good freshly squeezed orange juice. The restaurant serves adequate, though uninspiring food for lunch and dinner. The only downside to staying here is that there are few options to eat close to the hotel other than a lovely little cafe at the other end of the dock from the hotel (just walking distance) that has very nice staff, and nice snacks, sandwiches and wine.
