We ben there lucky for us only 1 night on the way to Pizzo. No good for people with bad knees. A lot of stair's. Airco no more in September !?, hot or not. We went for a drink at the pool...not possible. Towels....not free. Lunch not possible. Lucky we had a car because it is 2 miles from town.
The best at this Hotel is the absolutely fantastic Beach you have to walk around 500 steps but it's worth it. The Hotel is in need of renovation but it's clean. For Family's this Hotel is perfect and we as a Couple really liked it
This hotel is a hidden gem in a truly beautiful location. The simple rooms are spotless and the staff can't do enough to make your stay as special as possible. If you're looking for a stunning location, fabulous Italian hospitality, delicious locally produced food and cheeky cocktails, it's perfect! A torch-lit walk down the 400+ steps to our candle-lit private celebration at Pirate's Cove was a magical experience - complete with boat transfers back to the hotel in the dead of night. If you're looking for a stereotypical corporate 4*, it's not for you. Otherwise.... race you to the Beach!!
Amazing location/ view and one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been. However the hotel is outdated, older decor, no wifi in the rooms, tiny TV's, and AC only in July and August. Average breakfast. Very nice staff. Great pool. Great beach bar.
My hubby and I had a 4 days break at the kings at the beginning of June. The room has been furnished around the 2ww and never updated. It is noisy - definitely not recommended for light sleepers! Breakfast was good and the staff very polite and helpful. The small beach was clean and the water amazing but unfortunately every day A LOT of boats would come in and out to leave too many tourists so the quiet paradise would soon become a busy, dirty and loud inferno. Although the view from the room was amazing this place is way too expensive for what it offers. I wouldn't recommend it.
This was our starting point for a bike tour of the Cilento coast and was really nice. The room was spacious with a balcony that had a gorgeous ocean view. The lower level rooms had huge patios with the same view. Our A/C worked fine. Breakfast was a nice choice of items enjoyed al fresco. Did not venture down the stairs to the beach. Saw it on a boat trip out to the Blue Grotto. Another guest said it was not worth having to climb all the way up again. The pool was nice though and we had the whole place to ourselves. It was early in the season but this area isn't as touristy as the Amalfi Coast. I wish we'd had another night there.
Not a place I would recommend. Air conditioning centrally operated and only on a few hours late each afternoon through evening and early morning, but not properly working so virtually useless. Breakfast and pool fine though. 500 steps down to the beach, but then back again too. Would not stay there again.
Everything from the booking process and getting answers to my questions, the flight schedule, my attempt to cancel, and the stay itself was sub-par. Based on reviews to other destinations, it seems that DerTours is selling impossible itineraries, with flights that arrive too late for a hotel transfer to be possible on the same day, essentially shortening your stay by a day. The hotel required us to adjust our expectations quite a bit. We had a workable stay in the end that was not a complete disaster, but only after arranging our own car rental and being lucky enough to get through closed gates at 3am on the day of our arrival. We had a Marinella apartment with 2 bedrooms. A/C is ineffective and you will need fans.
When we came up to the hotel, we where greeted with a "Who are You?". When I explained that we where guests in another village who had gotten a recommendation to go there and eat, the rude girl behind the counter said, "no, we are not open" and even though we saw the restaurant was open she denied and looked at me/us as if we where something the cat had dragged in. So my friends. Don't even bother to try. You will get humiliated, I can assure you. I am a person who travels a lot in my work. A normal year I'm "out" 182 days, so I know what I'm talking about.
The hotel is a modern hotel which seems best suited for summer beach activities. It is located toward the periphery of the town and requires something of a walk to reach all but a few restaurants. The decor is contemporary and lacks the usually charm of hotels in southern Italy. However, the rooms were spacious and there was a nice private patio with beautiful views of the coastline and sea.
