We stayed 10 days in Feb./March 2022. Every time i think of Chenay Bay I will think of the Amazing staff. From John and Alice to Joe and Linda. and the Amazing T.D. The Made-to-order Breakfast was great every morning. Make sure to try Alice's smoked ham. WOW! The conversations around the food area we so fun every morning. Our room was Very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was our first time in STX and the staff gave us recommendations and helped us hit all the best places. The Views from the the eating area and the beach were Amazing. As of March 2022 they are still doing many upgrades so we can't wait to come back soon.

We've stayed here before- love the location and views- and we were hoping more repairs had been done after the 2017 hurricanes/and being closed for over a year during the pandemic, but sadly things were still in disrepair. Though the pool is open and they have a breakfast/food truck option, there is still no actual restaurant. And it's just open for breakfast/lunch. We booked a room with 2 queen beds (since we had 3 adults) and then they gave us a room with 1 bed and a couch- this was very disappointing. After talking to the staff (who were very nice and tried to be helpful) they said they only had one other room available with 2 beds- but when we got to up on the highest hill and the furthest walk from the parking lot, the AC wasn't working and room was at 88 degrees. All of the windows were open- but some were broken and there were no screens, so bugs were coming in. We were not given enough towels either for 3 people. They called the maintenance guy- and he came- and got the AC barely working but it never got cooler than 77 degrees the whole time we were there. We had to go to Home Depot and buy a fan. Nothing was comped for us for this inconvenience, even though we asked at checkout. We were also hoping to rent to a kayak or paddle board, but we could never find anyone to help us. We still like Chenay Bay and may return- but we will definitely call ahead and make sure they have the correct room for us and hope they make more repairs.

Didn't have any cleaning service which is fine but provide a broom if that's the case for all the sand. We asked for clean towels but they weren't provided so we had to get them ourselves. We are not high maintenence people and don't need luxury. Breakfast was good. Wish staff would be more eco friendly and dispose of their cigarette butts in a container and not on the beach.

The Property Managers John and Alice took great care of us. Joe who fixed us a delicious breakfast every morning and Breezy mixed up some wonderful specialty drinks :). The staff was so friendly and we all felt like we were part of the family. The Beach was great for swimming and snorkeling. Loved staying there and we will definitely visit Chenay Bay Beach Resort again.

It had some good and bad. I definitely have a hard time calling it a resort! When i think of resort, I think of a place you can spend your whole vacation and never leave. Not the case. We knew the first night we were gonna have to get a rental car. We got dropped off there by taxi around 5 with no source of food at all and we didn't have a rental car which was our fault. We ordered a couple been burritos, nachos and 4 waters from a nearby place (but not within walking distance) and they charged us $70!! We were told immediately upon arrival that we couldn't use the beach after 4pm because of covid which made no sense at all. The beach was not great. Sand rough, only 4 lounge chairs for whole resort, the swimming pool empty, the cottages run down. Some looked a little better then others but hard to say what inside was like. Ours did not have a working stove top. Just 2 old rusty burners and knobs ripped off. Paint on walls faded , old. Bathroom very dated looking. Some things that I liked were that the bed was very comfortable, the a/c worked great, ..they serve a very very nice free breakfast. They have kinda like a food truck there where they do breakfast and I think they do lunch to at least sometimes although that isnt free. We never had lunch there though. I loved the critters running around. They have a couple families of chickens running around, mongoose, we saw little deer, lots of cats but they are friendly kittties. The Staff were great and very helpful.

I love the Island and the people were great and very friendly.

I did not like anything about the property. It is a spot with great potential but that's not what I paid for. The room was not clean, there were exposed wires all over the property, the pool was murky and the place seemed abandoned. I am truly disappointed and might not use your service any longer/

Door was not locking

The property looks like at one point it used to be nice and it definitely has potential but it's blatantly obvious that the property is not properly maintained. The "resort" (and I use that term loosely) is located on a beach and the views from some of the rooms are nice and relaxing. That's really the only positive spin I can put on this. "Check In" was a joke in that the door was left open for us and the key was left in side. Major issues can be seen in the cottages. The bathrooms are in bad need of an upgrade: (i) the shower had duck tape keeping it together, (ii) the shower curtain rods were the old rods that fall off upon touch, (iii) the toilette didn't flush, (iv) towel racks were broken. In the room itself the mattresses are old, the chain lock on the door has no hook, the rubber seal outside of the door is falling off, and the TV didn't work. To top it all off there's no wifi. I came down for a funeral and was supposed to stay until the Tuesday but couldn't take it so I left a day earlier. This place is badly in need of renovations.

Property was in need of a lot of repairs. Bar was still closed restaurant was still closed. Had to drive to get anything from food to drinks. Pool area need some minor repairs rooms need updated. The positive was it was very quiet especially in the evening hours. Staff was very nice and helped in every way.

Amazing location in the Chenay Bay! Lots of beach to walk and enjoy the view of Green Cat!

COMPLAIN ABOUT INSECTS, WATER, SOCKET, SPIDERS IN BATHROOM NO CLEANLINESS, WINDOW OPEN, NO RESTAURANTS, NOBODY TO CHECK IN, MONGOOSE IN GARBAGE, MANY MORE TO ADDRESS

Cute little cottages with mini kitchen (including fridge, microwave, and stove with some cookware) right on the beach!

Lovely hotel and quiet place. Perfect place for a relax vacation.

Had a great time, but it was hotter and more humid than expected.

Loved strolling alongside the long beach every day.. can't wait to go back!

My fiancé and I stayed here for a wedding. It was not the best stay. I booked a ocean front room and did not receive one. When I questioned my reservations I was told it was. You could see the ocean from the corner of our porch, so I guess they count that as an ocean view. We were not informed before we checked in that the restaurant burnt down and there was no food unless you took a taxi somewhere. The bride arranged with the front desk to shuttle us to the neighboring hotel, Tamarid for food. It was suppose to be for free. They never told us and charged some staying for the wedding to take them there. Our cottage was a double we we had a connecting door in the middle. The family next to us had multiple children. They woke us up at 6:30 am screaming. We requested to change rooms. Others visiting had the same problems and moved rooms as well. There was another couple who had cockroaches in there room. Our new room had a very friendly cat sleeping on the couch. Thank god we where not allergic. If I ever return I will stay at the Buccaneer instead. The most money we spend was for all the taxi rides. We will recommend renting a car even if they drive on the left side of the road. We travel a lot, this was my fourth vacation this year and will not be returning any time soon.

Nice & clean for our first visit.. would recommend highly as we would visit again. Note: the facility is located some distance from the downtown area. you may want to rent a car !!

We do appreciate your feedback. We are continuing to make improvements. An AC man was called in for the cabin you were in. When you were here, we were almost completely booked. I do apologize for your inconveniences and will take your feedback to management so we can make improvements. Thank you for being open to giving Chenay another opportunity.

Our housekeeping staff is available to you each day. If you need service you can request it and they will come in. They dont enter rooms that are checked in by a guest unless they are requested. I am sorry you didnt get towels when requested. It must have been an oversight and we will address that issue. Thank you for the feedback!
