A bit tired

The motel is clean and tidy but a bit tired. The rooms could do with a refurbishment . The mattress in my room was saggy and seemed very old.

Convenient position to attend a family gathering. Easy parking and spacious. Easy to book and reasonable rates for the room. Though a little dated, it was warm, comfortable and all you need for a short stay. Clean and good ventilation, everything you need. Friendly welcome and quiet setting. Great value and especially helpful if you have a car (there can be trouble finding car park if staying in city centre).

I'd come to Christchurch just to stay here. First, I loved the property. It was easy to get to, in a great location and just the right size. I wish I could have stayed longer, and the photos don't do it justice. It's just the right size - small and intimate. Cute, sparkling clean, and plenty of lighting inside. I'd almost call it a boutique hotel. Second - and most important - was the service. I reserved earlier that day and got there late after a long drive. The host was happy to let me in and even gave me a better room that fit me better. I got unloaded into the room, and found flowers there. What?? I'd mentioned when reserving that it was my birthday and I was looking forward to the room, and in between the time I reserved and the time I arrived, the host went out and bought some flowers for me. It was the nicest surprise from a complete stranger who definitely didn't have to. It's one of the best birthday presents I've ever received.

Almost dead beds, unhygienic bath cubicle, noisy toilet, age old furnishings. Apart from the location and a very helpful manager, nothing good about this place. Ample parking.

Unit was very small indeed with only two chairs at the table to sit on - a limitation given the room was booked as suitable for three people. Beds were extremely soft. Unit is tidy and a little worn as might be expected for relatively cheap price. People are allowed to smoke on the balcony directly outside the units, which is unpleasant.
