Not a bad motel just a bit dated . Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and helpful . We found it nice and central and a short walk to the city centre . Take a cake of soap if your not used to using liquid soap . We were in a room at the back of the property and found it very quiet .

Booked for 2 nights through Booking.com. Girl on reception was friendly and helpful, I had emailed ahead to ask for earlier check in and this was accommodated. The larger units near reception looked homely and spacious, sadly we were in the 'block' out the back. Small room with very little extra space. One of the chairs was so unstable our daughter couldn't even sit in it with it wobbling precariously. Mattresses very soft, the single one moved around through the night and was hanging off the divan by morning. The decor was tired and needed a good clean/upgrade. Bathroom was basic, doors to cupboard had damp damage and the paint was peeling. By morning the windows were dripping with condensation due to lack of ventilation, the red obscure film on the door glass was ripped and half missing. There was also a strange smell..... possibly damp? Compared to other places we have booked on this trip, it certainly wasn't the cheapest and so far sadly not the best.

Apartment with two double bed and two single bed and two toilet and one kitchen. The facilities was quite complete. The room very clean just nice for our six family member to stay. Provided unlimited wifi but the speed is a bit slow. Enjoy at here.. would recommend to friend

Stayed there for 3 days. Ok service from staff. Close to keo Thai restaurant and also a bit close to city. Went out for a walk in the evening. Decent amount of space in the rooms. Overall it's a good place to stay.

We were very impressed with our stay at Camelot...it comfortably fit our family and luggage without feeling cramped. It felt like staying in a proper house with the large kitchen, large dining table, living room, specious bathroom, separate bedroom...and second level floor with another sleeping area. We enjoyed being able to cook a family meal as we were slightly over eating out. A little outdated but it was very clean and comfortable. The Casino is just up the road and took advantage of the Casino's free shuttle bus to pick us up...when we saw how close it was and we decided to walk back to Camelot. Reception has a DVD library so we enjoyed selecting a few movies and having a quiet night in. Most enjoyable stay...looking forward to returning and staying again when in Christchurch.

We had stayed here over 30 years ago briefly and booked it based on those memories. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be have been updated since then. The rooms were dark, the furniture dated and in need of a refresh. It didn't help that they had lost my booking and the place was booked out. Luckily I had all the paperwork and they eventually put us in a room they had down for someone else. Don't know how they sorted them out though. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had been redone. I like good pressure when having a shower but there was only a very thin spray from the nozzle. This is probably just a water saving measure rather than a fault in the pressure. The motel is located close to plenty of quality restaurants and close to the city so there is plenty of places to eat or to tour. The pool wasn't very warm but there were a lot of children using it so it was serviceable. They offered free wi-fi with up to 5 Gb but it was intermittent as quote the receptionist 'you can have up to 6 devices per room on the key and with 50 rooms that means 300 people so it can be slow'. At times it was non-existent.

First there was no hot water. Second they don't provide toilet paper - they provide these tiny little tissues that pull put one by one that are smaller than a standard tissue. The shower was also installed wrong so there was sitting water in the shower basin when I checked in. Over all this place was nasty.

We had adjoining rooms and found them dark and needing a revamp. The security catches on the windows were broken and the bathrooms need updating. The car parking is first in gets the spots and is very tight - it was scarey watching a supply truck try to turn with cars locked in around it. Noise was an issue with late and early arrivals and cars starting and leaving or doors closing. On the other hand, beds were comfortable, rooms were a great size and the shower had great water pressure. It is not that far out of the city center and a pleasant walk. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Will be my new goto motel in chch. I booked the 4 bedroom lodge for a night. Stayed with my sister and my family's. We had 10 in there but it was very spacious. Great spot next to pool. Quiet too. I liked it so much I booked a 2 bdrm room for just my family in returning to chch b4 flying out again. Again a spacious room. The first night we had flown in at 7am. I contacted hotel and they let us check in at 9am as room was ready. Really appreciated this and hosts were so nice the whole time. Great spot to. Walking distance to lots restaurants and zach station and free dvds to hire.

On a visit to our family we spent 6 days at the CML and found the combination of location, convenience (motel style means no suitcases to schlep up and down stairs) and amenities to be spot on: spacious enough to be comfortable for us 5 and "real" enough for our children to not feel "in a hotel" and us not to feel bankrupted by our stay. Wifi allowance of 1 GB per day is perfectly adequate too although it does mean that you will have to pre-download your favorite movies / shows. Highly recommended.
