Location worked out great for us, excellent food and drinking establishments within easy walk. Service was excellent, I had been in contact with motel owners for over a year and their efforts to accommodate our group of 8 singles was admirable. On arrival the hospitality shown and attention to detail was 1st class. Motel is not new or fancy, but don't let that put you off, everything works, is spotlessly clean and the price is very reasonable.
This is a small motel which is well run by a Chinese emigrant family. They keep it very clean, well maintained and it is an excellent value. Our unit was very well equipped (mini kitchen, microwave, fridge, large flat screen TV with numerous local and international channels. The A/C worked well and was quiet. The motel is about 1km from the center of the city in an area of motels. This distance was good since the center is still undergoing major rebuilding. There are a number of bars and places to ear within easy walking distance.
A group of us stayed here for 2 nights in June 2017 and I have to say it was one of the best visits to a motel we have had for many years. The owners could not do enough for us and they went a long wait to ensuring we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large and very well equipped and were spotless. Everything was in its place and set out perfectly.and the owner to great care to ensure that we knew where everything was and how everything worked. We wanted for nothing, including really good advice about the surrounding area, places to shop, eat and visit.
Great location, an easy 2k walk to Cathedral Square. There were heaps of eateries very close to the motel - including the #1 ranked place in all of Chch - Pedro's House of Lamb! Only 200m from the motel. Highly recommend buying a delicious lamb shoulder and scalloped potatoes and bringing back to the motel! We had a studio room; good size room and a huge comfy bed with quality linens. The little kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals too. The manager was very friendly and the service was great. The motel was great value and I would certainly stay here again.
Good stay here at Amross, thought it a little pricey on average for a motel and there are loads around. Great location near to centre of town and gardens (these are the best things about CHCH). Wifi didn't really work the whole time we were here but that was really the only issue we had. Staff very helpful and friendly too. Ample parking too.
Amross Court Motor Lounge is conveniently located at the fringe of Christchurch city. It is near Christchurch Botanical Garden and Hagley Park, ideal for those who wish to have morning jog. I rented a two-bedroom apartment unit, which is well-equipped with complete kitchen facilities. The kitchen is good for light cooking. Outdoor BBQ facilities are provided upon request. The property is very clean, and very good bed qualities. The only setback I found, WIFI usage is daily-capped and not fast enough. Overall, a very good motel and the host is very friendly and hospitable.
The motel is close to the centre of town however there are a lot of empty block nearby as a result of the earthquake. Plenty of choice within walking distance for food. The room we had was on the ground floor, you enter into the room with the queen bed and then go through into the lounge/kitchen/2nd bedroom. The rooms were a little old (squeaky taps) but spotlessly clean. The linen was lovely crisp cotton.
This small, well run and priced motel is conviently located to Mt Cook. Great!! staff are the icing on the cake. Would return in a heart beat to this spacious, well appointed room with memorable views of the mountains. They are also convenient to Tasman and Hooker Valleys and the airport. Do eat next door at the Chamois Restaurant/bar- a Better value than the disappointing Mountaineer Restaurant ten minute walk away.
Great location, we had an upstairs back one bedroom apartment, super quiet, spotlessly clean. All the amenities, soap, shampoo etc. mega sky tv channels free wifi, lots parking off street, easy walk to great cafes and food locations. Highly recommend. The owner is so lovely and helpful and very empathetic.
our first time in christchurch and had picked two nights here, we wanted to know what to do here, the lady behind the desk couldn't be more helpful marked all the different areas for us to visit and and fantastic place to eat, we were in an upstairs room, she explained about the road noise as we were road side - it wasn't that bad at all, the room was spotless and everything felt like high quality, even hand towels for use in the kitchen. its about a 900m walk into town, also with free Wifi and had a strong bars all the time. planning on staying here when we are back down in Oct the only 2 things that we didnt like was the shower head wasnt able to be moved down (for us shorter people) and the bed was hard (but that's a personal thing)
