First of all I'd like to say that this hotel might suit a lot of travellers with a smaller budget. Location is good and the rooms are decent. But for a business traveller this is below expectations. The standard of this hotel is old and despite the lobby is quite big it would need a major lift up to attract bsuiness travellers, but maybe that's not the target group of this hotel anyway. The rooms are clean and decent with a small bathroom and an old style TV. Also a refridgerator in the room. I had a balcony but it looked quite torn so I didn't dare to step out on it. The view from the room was a bit nice over the square. There is a restaurant in the hotel but only breakfast is served. It is buffet style breakfast with quite simple options, but you won't leave hungry if you aren't too picky. The breakfast room looked like a very old conference room from the sovjet era. Functional but not so nice.

Atmosphere.... of old times ... times that went by... Surroundings reminds socrealism... Good placed in center of Chisinau. Acceptable price (ballanced between quality and state capitol placement) Old soviet times object, strongly needs renovation. 3 stars only behind the window during cloudless night. Weak breakfast (I made a photograph of almost empty buffet-table). Finally I found pancakes with white cheese filling and cream you colud cut with knife.... It was very tasty! My favourite!! So sense of humor went back ;] Very slow elevators...

Stayed at the cosmos hotel 3 nights for World Cup qualifier Wales versus Moldova , wasn't expecting too much for the price I paid only booked it last minute as a provider cancelled my previous selection of hotel , I must say it was very enjoyable good old style hotel , rooms very clean , bed comfortable plenty to choose from for breakfast staff very helpful especially Anna who arrange all my taxis and trip to transnistria with out problem , very good location with a selection of bars/ restaurants in walking distance, the sky bar to the left was also very good , no hesitation in staying here again

I don't generally like to write bad things, but sometimes one has to do what one has to do... My first advice: chose another hotel! Cosmos's somehow strong point is its location. Apart from that, everything is ugly, dirty, outdated, it's like travelling 40 years back in time. Dirty carpets, worn-out furniture, TV set from the 80s, no batteries in the remotes for TV or A/C, wow...you are wondering if there's any limit to it. But apparently it isn't. Breakfast is scarce and low quality. Bad experience, don't be fooled by the cheap price! It's not worth it.

Walking into this hotel is like stepping back in time 30 years - it's dated. It is also however staffed with very friendly and helpful people. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was OK, comfortable enough but the lack of curtains was not good. We had to improvise something using a blanket and hair clips. We had a few issues with the air conditioning which took a few attempts to get sorted but the staff were obvilusly keen to get it resolved. The lifts were an experience! If you were a bit tardy getting out then the doors would close on you quite firmly. Not great if you happen to be walking through them at the time. We called them 'the attack lifts' which seemed quite an apt title. Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing but the coffee was good.

I selected this hotel because I wanted to stay in one of these old hotels from the 80s. Parts of the hotel were never renovated and the rooms look the same. The room was clean, however, the furniture was from the 80s. The breakfast buffet offered good cheese. The night was 25 EUR only.

It was a good deal for the money we paid. The rooms are basic - the double bed was comfortable - the bathroom recently updated. the rooms were cleaned and tidied each morning. *we stayed in an ap. (14th floor - nice view over the city from the balcony). The free wifi worked well this time . Poor breakfast, but i didn't expert much. the cheese was ok. The hotel is centrally located near to many bus stops, maxi taxi stops and the train station - and many restaurants and shops are easily within walking distance.

2 guys first time in Republic of Moldavia, seeking socialism life style and experience. Hotel Cosmos was exacly how we expected to be. Old, old furnished, communist employees, slightly touch of 2000 modernism and a lot of sadness. But we were treated with hospitality. From the very beginning we had some problems to find the safe parking in the back of the hotel. It was quite amazing to see the workers and administration area in the hotel wich is intact since the communist period with a lot of russian socialist influences, but for me it was beautiful. We received an apartment above 10th floor. The arhitecture and standards of the hotel which were born in socialist period were unbelievably amazing. Our room(all of them generally) had wood windows and some sponge for isolating the temperatures outside. The late '90 decoration of the room was exactly what we expected. Working in hospitality management I would say that the room was 75% clean. There were clear some spots that were not cleaned for years (curtains, lightning, wallpaper) and objects that were old and shall be changed (TV, AC, Fridge). There is plenty of improvement needed to raise the standards, but we were not expecting more. The breakfast is a disaster and in my opinion is due to the old and communist personnel. The breakfast restaurant it is the place visited by 90% of the guests and shall be improved. The tables, chairs and table clothes were sticky and never correctly cleaned. The buffet did not respect any standards. The variety of food is low and it is the same each day. The waiters were hiding yogurt in their drawer and they were bringing to the buffet 2-3 pieces from the hidden drawer without too many people to see. If you refill your plate they watch you not to feel comfortable to do it. Anyway, food was simple and enough. I did rated 5 stars experience because I would definitely return to Cosmos Hotel and I will recommend to everyone who will ask me. I really recommend you to accommodate at this hotel if you really want to feel the real Moldavian and Eastern Europe quality of life.

Second time staying here - this time for 5 nights Definitely a throw back to the communist era - but that said at £20 a night (booked in the uk) inc breakfast it represents good value The rooms are basic - the double bed was comfortable - the bathroom / shower relatively recently updated - the view off the front balcony impressive - the rooms were cleaned and tidied each morning The TV in the room was somewhat dated (but not as old as the pyramid of TVs outside the restaurant) The free wifi worked well this time (on our first visit a couple of years ago it was a bit hit and miss) The eat as much as line buffet breakfast is good value and caters for most tastes The hotel is centrally located near to many bus stops, maxi taxi stops and the train station - and many restaurants and shops are easily within walking distance - inc the new shopping centre right next door The receptionist spoke good English - the breakfast staff not so

The hotel was in a good location, close to a few big shopping malls and only 15 minutes walk from all major attractions. Room was a bit dated, but comfortable. Wifi was so-so, breakfast was acceptable. It was a good deal for the money I paid.
