Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore

Very large and bland hotel located in the North Chicago burb of Skokie. Location wise it is good, I 94 is close, there are restaurants , bar's, shopping ,etc. but it certainly is not a tourist area. They have a banquet facility, small indoor swimming pool, small workout area, and a Bar Louie, which is a nice bar and a fairly decent place to eat. The room is typical Holiday Inn, nice bed, small noisey fridge, a microwave, this is a large hotel so its spread out all over the place. I didn't like that you could not open any windows in the room, to me it was stuffy. Over all not a bad place to stay, but it certainly is not exciting.

Hotel is nice but could use a little updating. It's conveniently located, and we used it for just one night. It's a good value.

We checked in at around 9pm, hotel location wasn't that bad but parking was terrible. Front parking lot was full, we had to circle around the hotel for 10 mins to find additional parking. So I dropped of my wife instead to check us in, while I park at the back. So I parked there, there were no entrances, and it was raining so I had to run to the front. Manager told us that he upgraded our stay to executive suite (later did I realized that that was the room we booked in the first place). Front desk told me that I need to put this white paper for permission to park inside the vehicle, she told me the easiest way to get to the back is through the back door, so i went through there thinking I could easily come back using the same door, but it was only an exit you need to have a card to go back in, so I had to go around the building again while its raining. Later on, while everything settled down and we're in the room, we tried to connect to their WIFI, and of course it isn't that easy. While we followed every steps it took like 30 minutes to connect using my android phone and or my Ipad, and connection was cutting off. We ended up not using it at that night. The next morning tried connecting it, it worked just fine and it was fast. So internet is not reliable during the night expect traffic. I liked booking a hotel when it has free breakfast. That's usually my preference, when I booked through orbitz it has the breakfast icon on hotel offers, it wasn't, you have to pay for it.

We stayed for 3 nights. The room and bathroom were very nice; the beds were comfortable - with NO bedbugs; and we inspected very carefully with a flashlight.

Located in Skokie, IL, the proximity to Chicago was reasonable. However, the hotel looked like a Motel 6 with a much higher price tag. Room accommodations were just ok and rather disappointing. The electronic room keys worked poorly on all locks. The whole place had a "hard used" look to it. The breakfast in the bar/restaurant was good but rather expensive. Parking was free and available. Drug stores, Starbucks and local restaurants were close and accessible. Overall for the price per night, I was definitely not impressed. For the price per night, I would find a better choice next time.

waitress great/ service slow. food OK. Room nice. TV needs child restrictions. Location good

staff was rude, room was filthy and smelled of cigarettes.

One particular front desk staff ( Shein ) excellent service !!!!!!!!!!!

Room was a little worn but clean. Staff were very friendly and eager to help. I had some large packages delivered in advance of my arrival and they were very gracious about handling them. the hotel manager greeted me personally and I believe they are sincerely trying to provide excellent service. I would come back here without hesitation.

The hotel and amenities were perfect! The place were convenient and closed to our family and friends place.

Not only was this place clean, but the staff were well mannered and polite...the huge mall across the way helped too.

Staff was nice decent area and good entertainment at hotel

The hotel is on a main road with easy access to everything (restaurants, stores, etc). The hotel was clean, and the staff was nice. There is a bar in the hotel which served some nice beers on tap and the food was surprisingly unique and good considering it is a bar. The only weird thing was that the receptionist asked me to put a tag on my car dashboard so it didn't get towed from the hotel's parking lot... I didn't understand why that was necessary (maybe it's a shared lot?) and had to walk out all the way to my car to place it there (it was cold haha). But other than that, no complaints.

I have stayed at this hotel before as it is very conveniently located. However, most of my previous stays were in the Spring and summer. this was late January and it was very cold. The heat was blasting in the halls and was extremely loud (so loud I had difficulty sleeping). I would definitely go back, although maybe not midwinter. The beds are very comfortable, although the bathroom is small and the commode is incredibly low to the ground (practically fell when trying to sit down.) the staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely a good value hotel.

It is always great to stay here. It does not matter what season of the year. Awesome experience all the time.

My husband and I planned a trip for our anniversary to chicago and found our hotel in Skokie, great hotel! Friendly staff! and it was in a great area! beautiful decor inside the hotel and rooms are comfy. I would definitely recommend this hotel again!

A decent bang for your buck. Free parking, friendly staff, rooms are what to expect from Holiday Inn, ammenities are good. The only thing out of my comfort zone is the noise, and that can be accomodated with a request for a room away from the pool area, (upon availability) at the front desk. Very close proximity to highway, airport is 10 - 15 minutes away, gas station, & shopping.

The size of the hotel was good. The open courtyard made the stay feel like home. The only problem I had was there wasn't enough staff for checking in when I went to check in. I understand there was a wedding being held at the hotel, but they needed at least 3 people checking everyone in.

Love the convenience of stores and restaurants. We had the king executive, the bed was comfortable and love the large size of bathroom we had.
