We were 3 couples that stayed here on a short holiday in July 2017. Absolutely beautiful property with amazing views all around. Amenities are basic but very neat, clean and well maintained hotel for the price. Pool area was fantastic to watch sunsets from in the evenings. Would highly recommend and would love to go back!!
The best wedding ever. 30 of us in a perfect setting, what more could you ask. Lovely rooms, great breakfast and amazing views from a wonderful garden. Would love to come back and stay longer, we had a wonderful stay.
I do not recommend this hotel. We booked a wedding there next year because we were told it had a certain capacity. It turns out that was a complete lie just to get us to book and pay a deposit. Now Borgo's authorised partners and suppliers have confirmed it can hold nowhere near that number of people, they are ignoring us and refusing to refund our deposit. They engage in misleading conduct and will say anything to get your money.
We stayed 5 days/4 nights for a wedding. 30 of us shared the Villa with plenty of room to spare. The backdrop was phenomenal; not a bad view in site. Perfectly photogenic scenery made for amazing wedding photos. Rooms were clean and spacious. Best way to get there is by car. You'll need one if you plan to get groceries. The wood oven for pizza was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely come back.
Just got back and it was truly amazing. Great, large rooms, with good beds and great bathrooms (showers with great pressure - not a given in Italy). Lovely, lovely staff, always helpful and friendly. We had a large wedding there first, then some of us remained and did nothing but occupy the pool area. Well, of course you can reach Siena, San Gimignano, Florence and Volterra in less than 30 minutes driving (just don't believe the GPS and stick to the main roads)
Our group of 30+ people spent 3-4 days here at start of September for a wedding and can honestly say is it was spectacular. The location is breathtaking and the staff so accommodating, the weather was exceptional which made the wedding truly memorable. All the facilities were of a high standard and so comfortable, would recommend this place to everybody for holiday that will give you priceless memories
We stayed here with the wedding party of a friend. It is beautiful. The scenery is stunning, the staff are friendly, rooms are well sized, clean etc. I had one of the enjoyable couple days of my life. Defo recommend. Pool is lovely, xxxxxxxxxxxx
Position, rooms, cleanliness all is fantastic here!!! We had weddings here and all could not be better than this!!!! there is suitable indoor space in case of rain but the terrace with the marquee where you can eat every night is fantastic!!!!
Great b&b with beautifully restored rooms and grounds. Excellent location in central Tuscany, with easy access to surrounding towns (30 min to San Gimignano, 45 min to Florence) Beautiful views from breakfast terrace across the valley to San Gimignano. The owner was wonderful and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great place to stay for an extended Tuscany vacation.
We stayed here with a wedding party so took the whole villa which was great - we were able to use the kitchen to cook our meals and keep our food and drinks. We were assigned teh tower suite which was lovely - but my oh my - a lot of stairs! About 60. Its quite narrow winding staircase too which meant we couldnt get our suitcase to the top bedroom. Also the stair case is very dark so i suggest leaving the lights on over night as I fell down the stairs one night - not much fun :( No hot water for the first 2 days - had to ask to get it switched on The pool was just lovely and great for kids as it was shallow at one end so they were able to sit in the water. There was only one umbrella shade by the loungers though - I would suggest investing in more. You do need a car if you are to stay here though, the co-op shop was 5 mins by car, florence is about an hour, barberino is a beautiful village about 5/10 mins by car. Luckily we fell in love with the restaurant opposite so were there most nights and staggered back (approx 1 min walk away) The host/owner didnt seem too enthusiastic. I only saw someone sat at the front desk on one day and she made no eye contact or spoke to us at all. Also, there seemed to be a lot of complaints coming from them or the cleaners - I think we were leaving our belongings around. If you are going to rent out your villa wholly to a group of people then surely only complain if we leave it in a state on departure? The bride seemed to be a bit stressed with the complaints from the owner, which upset me. There was no maid service at all for the whole week - not sure if this is normal but it would have been nice to have fresh towels and more loo roll! There is a TV/sitting room which was great for the kids as it was just next to the terrace where the adults sat of an evening There was WIFI available but it didnt work for the first few days so we had to ask for it to be turned on. Then it was intermittant but to be honest I never used it, my husband just wanted to download the newspaper daily. But overall, this was a great holiday, The wedding was beautiful - I believe it was "Weddings in Tuscany" who co-ordinated it. - Just gorgeous!! Oh, and for sure, go to San Gimignano! Just gorgeous but very touristy and busy, go early if you want to get parked :)
