The village is an enchantment. The hotel is a very good stay for the ones willing to escape from the Siena crowd and noise Siena is a beautiful town but so uncomfortable to stay or to move in during summer Colle di val d'Elsa is a true restful place Hotel is cosy, people are very kind, rooms clean, bathroom luxurious and breakfast excellent. I strongly recommend every traveler to stay there when visiting Sienna
perefct location in col val d'elsa , very beautiful little city with nice glass-museum , little sqare for a local wine or cold beer and arnolfo, a 2 star michelin restaurant. the hotel night was a birthday present via via smart-box , 1 night incl wellness spa the rooms are surprisingly nice, with wooden floors , good bathroom and excellent bed. breakfast was included too and the girls were very quick & helpfull , as my wife doesnot eat cowmilk, they were bringing heer goat cheese & made her an omelette . there is only 1 thing ...must pay for the use of the bathrobe and slippers , which for me is unacceptable , it is little money but even if it was just €1 , I wouldnot use it or pay for it. so we had a good swim and great massage , and they gave us 2 very little hand towels to dry off. With checkout only they told us that they didnot charged as we had a paid massage , but I returned the bag with bathrobe & slippers not used
Very Great hotel! The people are very friendly and kind! The breakfast is really good, a lot of choose for everyone! The rooms are very Nice and clean. The restaurant 'sopra Le mura' is very delicious! Family thys from Belgium
We stayed just one night at the hotel, but wished it had been longer. Our room was not quite ready when we arrived and so we were given complimentary drinks in the bar whilst we waited. The recommendation for dinner was ideal for us, just steps away from the Hôtel, and perfect. There was a spa which we would definitely have used if our stay had been longer. The rooms were immaculately clean, great attention to detail too. Breakfast was lovely with a huge variety, and helpful staff again. The town is definitely worth exploring, such an interesting place, and an ideal location for other Tuscan towns.
Great stay at the Palazzo San Lorenzo. Small place and unique ambient. Great and friendly staff all around the hotel. Will be back. We travel from Dominican Republic to something nice and quiet. This is the one. Thanks.
A very pleasant hotel just inside the town gate at the top of the old town. Our room was very spacious. The bathroom was quite luxurious - but a word of warning to older people - some bathrooms have large hydra/jacuzzi baths, with the shower inside the bath. You have to climb in over a very high sided bath. There is no handle to hold on to if you are having a shower, and the bottom of the bath is quite slippy. I was quite nervous that I would slip. If you prefer a separate shower instead, you should request this when booking, I think. The jacuzzi facility in the bath would have been good, but I didn't have a chance to try it out! Also, would have liked some hooks in the bathroom and elsewhere (I have a thing about hooks! - find them really useful especially in a bathroom, for hanging bath towels, clean clothes etc). Apart from that, it was perfect. The breakfasts were good, and the bar drinks very reasonable. Colle Val d'Elsa is a lovely small town - if you like quiet places and not too many shops etc. It's a good spot for staying if you have a car or are part of a touring group - otherwise it might be a bit off the beaten track for getting around. It's a lovely haven after visiting the crowded tourist spots in Florence and elsewhere. It's quite easy to walk down to the newer part of town (while the special street elevator is still out of action), but the bus back up only went once an hour. The small Museum of Crystal in the lower part of town was lovely. We would certainly stay here again.
We stayed two nights at the Palazzo San Lorenzo in the small medieval town of Colle Di Val d' Elsa. It is a charming hotel. Our room was very clean, spacious and modern with a king size bed and was nicely furnished. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices cereals, pastries, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cheese etc. We enjoyed our stay in this nice quaint town. It is a lovely, quiet place to stay away from the crowds of people at Florence and San Gimignano. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel. They also have a heated swimming pool, Turkish bath, spa and sauna.
Palazzo San Lorenzo is a lovely hotel with spacious rooms and clean facilities Absolutely satisfied with the room. The jacuzzi in the bathtub was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast is very good. Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful recommendIng transport and restaurants. The only drawback is the town of Colle Val D'Elsa, where the hotel is located, is rather quiet and off the main tourist beat. Though to be fair quietness do have some advantages like no crowds in the streets and restaurants and you get the chance to talk to and get closer to incredibly friendly town residents. The hotel is in the old town section and it was quite a disappointment that the elevator from the top of the old town down to the bottom of the new town was not working apparently for over 6 months. The climb up and down is too strenuous for older folks. Public transport is from a bus terminal in the new town area and you can easily board a bus to Siena or Florence. The other popular tourist spots like San Gimignano and Volterra are not too far away and we hired a taxi to get there. The hotel can arrange. If you like a quiet place to stay this is the hotel for you. And if you have your own car it would be easy to get around to visit all the other popular towns in the area.
Palazzo San Lorenzo is a modern medium size hotel located in a tiny street in a small ancient town of Colle di Val d'Elsa. Hotel was clean and the double superior room was large and comfort. A good variety breakfast buffet is served in a nice glass roofed courtyard. The hotel free parking is 200m away (4 min walk). The hotel location making it easy to visit the Tuscany area but the narrow winding roads are unpleasant to drive after sunset. Overall a very nice experience and a great value hotel. Highly recommended.
We only stayed one night in the Palazzo San Lorenzo but it was one very pleasant night. The staff were friendly and welcoming and after a long trip from the UK all we wanted was a cool, comfy room and a nice shower and that is exactly what we got. Nice big bed, spacious room, large clean bathroom and a good shower. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice including cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, hot food and pastries. When it came to leave they very kindly stored our cases whilst we explored Colle di Val D'Elsa.
