Stayed with a couple of friends for four nights. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. We stayed on the second floor and the room was clean and quiet although many spots in the resort were going through renovation.

Stayed here for 4 nights with elderly. Staff are helpful. Room is spacious and clean. Good breakfast and got free tuk tuk service to night market. Enjoyed the the canal restaurant ambient. BTW, you can walk to nearest 7-11 just 10 minute along the road from the right of the hotel. We have enjoyed our holiday! It will be better if the hotel does provide room service for dinner etc. :) Just a suggestion.

Excellent hotel, large clean bedroom and bathroom. Loungers around the central pool. The restaurant served an excellent breakfast and evening measl very good. Also, central for Chiang Mai. Staff very helpful.

We loved this hotel. Our room was massive and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a tub and a shower stall with great water pressure. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and the restaurant was great. The mango sticky rice there was probably may favorite in Thailand. This hotel puts you within walking distance of the old city and lots of massage places as well as the blind cafe.

Family stay for 3 nights during the Sonkran New Year festival which the hotel is ideally situated for in the Old City. Very pleasant greeting upon arrival and rooms were ready and very pleasant. Air Con struggling however with the higher temps. There is a small pool area which is very nice with lots of shade but the Chlorine seemed a bit excessive with the kids complaining of sore eyes. We had a very nice meal in the adjoining Canal Bar and restaurant the first evening. Overall it was a very relaxing stay with superb attentive service throughout. There were even 4 complimentary massages too which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended.

Location within the old part of town and old thai house. The building outdoor looks without maintance. Close to the airport 15 minutes. The taxi has a fixed fare THB 160 from airport to hotel. Conveniently located for temples visiting. We book a Superior Double Room They assigned us a very spacious, quiet room with balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool on the 2nd floor. The pool is not heated. The breakfast offer is decent. Friendly front desk. It has a one way shuttle bus to nigth market everyday and on weekends "weekend walking" an open night market with more offer than common night market and more crowdy.. As in wholeThailand you should negotiate prices in the market and tuktuk (from night market to hotel THB 100). Regarding mosquitoes the room has electrical appliances against mosquitoes and they leve anti mosquitoes lotion in the room.

The Rim is a very nice place to stay in Chiang Mai. Based on an old Lanna House design (the entrance apparently is part of one). Situated on the edge of the "canal" system which runs right around the old-town, it's convenient both for walking down into the town proper and it's fairly close to the airport. The well maintained gardens are pleasant but be aware, the mosquito population is very noticeable so tale lots of mozzy repellant. Nice clean swimming pool. Rooms clean and well serviced with extremely polite and helpful staff. Breakfasts simple but adequate. However, the exterior of the place could do with a lick of paint and the woodwork a coat of varnish. There's lots of black stains about on many exterior walls. We had a problem with the air-con in our room which was just throwing out non-cooled air. However, once a complaint was lodged, the matter was attended to within the hour. Why this sort of thing isn't checked BEFORE the arrival of guests remains a puzzle. One other gripe and, I have to say a big disappointment was the location of our room (314). It's stuck at the bottom in a corner and is overlooked by staff moving up and down a staircase just outside; no privacy at all if one wishes to sit out on the verandah (which I do in the early morning). It's also like being in a cave, dull and overlooked by anyone passing through the garden area. WiFi is a bit hit and miss at times with frequent drop-outs. Also, right outside is a noisy rattling air-conditioning housing which cuts in and out all day and night. Note to anyone thinking of booking: AVOID ROOM 314. I'm sure if we'd had a better placed room our stay would have been more enjoyable. Why didn't I ask for a room change? We were only booked in for 4 days and it took a day to realise the problems. But, in spite of this, I can recommend staying here.

Very good hotel, central location for temple visits. Food excellent, friendly staff able to help with all our queries. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a problem with the air conditioning when temperatures rose to nearly 40 degrees, the staff dealt with this immediately providing us with an extra fan. Our rooms were cleaned daily, the dining room and pool areas were spotless. We had no complaints during our 6 night stay. I would highly recommend.

We didn't spend much of our time in the hotel during our stay, nonetheless the room was clean and has good wifi. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also did a quick sweep before we left and picked up one of our belongings. They have a cheap bike hire service which is great for getting around the city. The breakfast selection is limited which is the only left down.

The frontdesk service is ok..the hotel is old and neat..but the room clean service is not so good..the bedsheet didnt change until we ask for it.. in addition, the supplies for wash also not updated after clean service.. i dont think i will come again
