The Rim Resort is a beautiful Thai style hotel. The rooms are clean and modern with free WiFi. The grounds are very lush and peaceful, plus there is a pool. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the night market. The hotel does offer a free shuttle at 7 pm each night. We were very pleased with the Rim Resort.
This is a perfect location to explore the old town of Chaing Mai. We have found that the service levels in Thailand overall have been great. The Rim Resort did not disappoint.....excellent staff, easy check in and always a greeting drink of tea or fruit. We had a large room with a balcony but really couldn't use it in the evening due to the Mosquitos. I loved the wooden architecture and decorations. A very nice restaurant, great breakfast.
We had a beautiful room. Although on busy street the rooms, pool area and restaurant were very quiet. Located on the edge of the old town it is close enough to walk to town - 15 minutes. Only 10 minutes drive from airport. Breakfast was very good. Had dinner in house only once but again very good.
The coffee at breakfast was wonderful and the restaurant was very good at breakfast and dinner. The staff were very helpful, friendly and responsive. The room was comfortable and well designed. We really liked the Thai style architecture and the view of the pool area. Our room was quiet and very private. The hotel shuttle service was most convenient and efficient. The air conditioning worked well and the internet was fast and reliable. Hot water in the bathroom was a bit inconsistent. On our last day there was no hot water at all and on other days it ran hot and cold. Lighting in the room could have been brighter given that the furnishings are traditional dark timber. Although the location of the hotel is excellent the road in front is a little noisy if you take cocktails at the Canal Restaurant bar outside (although it was still very nice outside).
This small boutique lanna styled hotel with green shady surroundings among busy streets and alleys. The room space is wide and clean. With balcony overlooking the pool with cozy chairs. The facilities are good including bathtub , hot$cool shower room and minibar /electric kettle. Nice place to escape bustling city life and traffic. Only 20 minutes drive to and from airport without heavy traffic.
This resort is located on the west side of the city perimeter canal which is easily accessible by taxi for rides to the airport, tour pickups, and getting in and out with your rented motorbike. The morning buffet was not the biggest but the quality was very good. There are eggs to order and the cereal/mueslix/fruit selection was really good. I would normally not eat chocolate tarts for breakfast but these were outstanding.
The Rim Resort is a little bit on the outskirts of town but you can easily take a tuk tuk to the center of town which is maximum a 20 minute ride (including traffic). As for the hotel itself the breakfast was not the best and my room's air conditioning (1st floor) was not working properly. Thus, the entire stay my room was hotter than it was outside yet, my friend's room air conditioning worked fine. That's the only huge issue I see with the hotel. The shower could use some upgrading but the room is spacious. A little high on the price but overall I had a decent stay.
We felt very well welcomed by the staff who were extremely helpful with their advice on where to go within the old town. We found that we were in a very good location for exploring the old town and staff were also able to help with taxis and further advice when we needed it! The hotel itself was clean and provided a very good breakfast!
Stayed with a couple of friends for four nights. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. We stayed on the second floor and the room was clean and quiet although many spots in the resort were going through renovation.
Stayed here for 4 nights with elderly. Staff are helpful. Room is spacious and clean. Good breakfast and got free tuk tuk service to night market. Enjoyed the the canal restaurant ambient. BTW, you can walk to nearest 7-11 just 10 minute along the road from the right of the hotel. We have enjoyed our holiday! It will be better if the hotel does provide room service for dinner etc. :) Just a suggestion.
