Mixed feelings here. Beautiful resort, lovely rooms and friendly staff. If the original contact had have been there, things would have been different. A special birthday night had been organised via email. We did not get that. Driver did not pick us up from airport . After an hour a nice taxi driver rang the hotel to be told he hadn't left and would be 30 mins. They then rang this guy back who came find us to tell us to get a taxi and they would pay. Taxi took ages, was rude and didnt know where hotel was. Finally found hotel. No welcome drink. When asked about special birthday dinner previously organised, we were told to go to the mall. The driver took us. The staff did bring a birthday cake later which was lovely. The owner offered a free lift to the bus station the next day which we thought was fair. At breakfast , the orders were wrong but we were over it. They let us check out late. Once we got to bus station, the driver DEMANDED 200 baht. We argued he hadn't picked us up at airport but he wouldnt get out and open boot until i paid him. Room cost 5000 baht and we had better service form a 700 baht hotel. Very disappointing. Nat, the original contact has apologised but no "sorry " makes up for a birthday that was supposed to be special and organised via email.
We are just finishing up our visit to chiangmai, thailand, where we enjoyed the wonderful culture and history of the thai people for 6 days. How we wish we could stay longer!! We love this resort and all the people that work here; the immaculate gardens, the great breakfasts, the large, clean, modern, well maintained rooms can be found in many places... but the warm, accommodating, friendly, always helpful staff cannot be found anywhere else. They knew our son turned 12 during our visit, so they just (the entire day and night staff!) delivered a birthday cake, singing happy birthday, to our room totally surprising us! Thank you so much to Poo Si (?), and Pom, the gentleman who has been driving us around for 5 days making suggestions and giving advice, all while teaching us about the rich history and culture of this wonderful country. We truly felt like family during our entire visit!
This resort is absolutely incredible! My husband and 22 month old daughter were supposed to stay here for 3 nights but ended up extending for 8 nights in total! It's an oasis right outside of the main city of Chiang Mai! The owners and staff took us in and treated us like family. I have never felt so loved and felt so at home while on vacation. This resort is wonderful for kids of all ages and even couples who are traveling alone. Every single detail has such a beautiful touch. Food was outstanding and it was so quiet, yet so close to so much! There's even yoga and a huge mall (with tons of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops) within walking distance. Super great farmers market on Wednesdays! I can not wait to travel here again and I have already told many people about this wonderful place. 2 beautiful pools, a play area for kids, and tropical surroundings that make you feel like you are super far from the hustle and bustle. We truly were sad to leave. You will not be disappointed!!!!
I booked the oriental siam resort as a treat after our jungle trek and it did not disappoint. Lovely welcoming people, who took us to our room and showed us around when we arrived. They very kindly arranged a taxi for us to the Sunday night market, which was great for food and shopping. The pool was a great hit with our children and they enjoyed being able to cool down. Lovely made to order breakfast in beautiful surroundings and an easy transfer back to the airport, courteous of the resort. Great customer service!
To say that the Oriental Siam Resort was amazing is an understatement. If I could pack my bags and move anywhere, this would be the place. The grounds are beautiful, everyone that works there is friendly and helpful, and it is in a great location. My fiance and I went to Asia for a couple of weeks and this place was our favorite. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the resort staff, all of whom were pleasant, friendly, and very accommodating. After being there for maybe 3 minutes, I no longer felt like a tourist. The women that greeted us were just so nice and very helpful and made us feel right at home. They led us down a beautiful walkway to show us around and to our room. The grounds are truly amazing. The natural beauty of the tropical gardens cannot and should not be ignored. It was like walking into a piece of paradise. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, even though we didn't spend much time there. A made-to-order breakfast was offered every day, which was delicious, and the views were gorgeous. We overlooked the lake on the grounds and listed to the birds chirp happily as we ate each morning. There is nothing better than that! When we got there the first day, we were told that if we needed a ride, Pom would be happy to help. Pom turned out to be one of my favorite people I have EVER met. Not only was he incredibly helpful, knowledgable, and kind, he genuinely cared about our time there. He went above and beyond anything I could have ever expected. There were a few times during our stay that he really put himself out there for us. He wasn't just an employee or a driver, he became a trusted friend. If Pom told us to stay away from certain areas, we stayed away. If he recommended a restaurant, we went. He never steered us wrong. When you're in a different country and don't speak the native language, it can become a little intense, and sometimes frustrating. Pom took all of that away. He made sure we were comfortable in everything we did and really looked out for us. There are certain people that walk into your life, no matter how brief, and change it forever. Pom was one of those people and I cannot thank him enough. If there is one piece of advice I can give anyone looking for a unique and beautiful place to stay in Chiang Mai, it's to please stay here. If your experience is half as good as mine, it's 100xs better than a $400 night stay somewhere in the US.
Travelled with family, this resort is located 10 minutes from the Old City, its away from the noise of downtown and is great if you want a relaxing vacation. The staff are very attentive and patient (as my parents are a bit picky) and they always approach things positively. We had an amazing time booking trips with them to the National park where you could visit the highest temple in Chiang Mai, visited an elephant park and driving to and from the night bazaars and Old City during the evenings. A big thanks to Ad and Nero for their hospitality.
Beautiful calm quite place, best for relaxing trip. Enjoy life near to nature. Beautiful green orchard villas cool swimming pool and lovely atmosphere. You can also book your trip here for outing like Elephant Safari, Zoo and many many places. Much much much to do.
We have just returned from 5 days at this stunning hotel, the small family run hotel is set in tropical gardens with with a lovely pool and plunge pool for guest to use. Staff at he hotel are friendly and helpful, rooms are spotless and it is only 15/20 mins away from central Chaing Mai. They will arrange pick up from airport and if driver is available they will happily drop you to restaurants or to town (additional cost) Breakfast is lovely and although they do not offer dinner they are happy to order food for you to eat at the hotel.
Nat and Pongsri were wonderful gracious hosts who made our stay very pleasant. We were amazed with their kind hospitality - particularly arranging transportation and the efficiency in check in and check out. The highlight of this beautiful resort is the flora and fauna. We were astounded to know that the patrons themselves designed and built this landscape slowly over the years. One feels the zen, the calm, the softness, the warmth, the simplicity in this place. The hot breakfast spread served personally was welcome. Do not miss a romantic dinner under the open sky on the tree top terrace. I would love to come back solo or bring back family here. PS If you're looking for action, noise, concrete...then stay in the city (a 20 minute drive). My idea of a holiday was to feel a getaway back to nature and the human touch.
Our four day stay at this lovely resort was truly sublime! The staff offered gracious hospitality at every turn. The neighborhood is quiet and a welcome respite from the bustle of the city. The resort staff can drive you into the city with barely a wait and Uber back to the resort is very inexpensive. The grounds are impeccable. I spent hours relaxing by the pool in nicely shaded lounge chairs listening to the birds. A perfect spot for a relaxing vacation! If only it were closer to the US and I'd be a yearly visitor!
