The area is perfect to walk around and get to know the city and local places. Not one of the best places to eat but that is not a problem lots of restaurants and bar in the neighborhood. Nice team working. Miss free transfers...

Booked this on Expedia. The hotel was far from the photos. It's run down and older than I expected. Our rooms smelt of mildew and it was musty. There were old clothes under the bed, they want payment for big repellent plugins, and worst of all there were cockroaches in our bathroom. We left asap with no refund. Staff was very nice and I could tell felt awful about the situation.

BEWARE BEFORE STAYING AT DELANNA RESORT !!! My partner and I recently spent a couple of nights at De Lanna Hotel in Chiang Mai. After spending the last 4 months backpacking I can safely say I am NOT a high maintenance guest . I was enjoying the experience even though I noticed that a lot of the bad reviews were true eg. Very sporadic hot water in shower, air-con which was not ample to cool down room , less than average breakfast only really catering to Chinese travellers etc. for the price of the hotel you will be completely underwhelmed by the facilities and service. I also shrugged off the fact that housekeeping had taken my own personal beach towel and upon realising simply left it on the floor out the front of our hotel room ( we were inside so would have heard the knock if they had tried) like I said , I'm a very easy going traveller so did not even mention the above things and instead preferred to concentrate on trying to enjoy my holiday ! The REAL issue occurred on our final night . After being out on a tour all day my partner and I arrived back to the hotel room to find a letter on our bed. The letter stated we had been fined over 3500 baht (102 USD) because we had stained the bedsheets . Immediately I knew what had caused the marks (my lotion for my skin condition) I have been using this particular product to treat my skin for most of my life and know that it looks quite bad but it will come straight out in the wash . At first I was a little frustrated that they had tried to charge me so much money when they obviously had not tried to clean the sheets first but I tried to be understanding and went down to discuss with reception about washing the sheets and then they will see it doesn't stain. I was greeted as reception by a VERY rude lady (they had obviously been anticipating my arrival) and when I tried to explain that a simple wash will remove the marks she told me they had already washed the sheets and they were still marked . I asked her to go and retrieve the sheets for me . After some time she returned with the sheets which obviously HAD NOT been washed as they still smelt like my partners cologne. They lady insisted they had been washed and that the charge would be placed on my credit card . This is when I became furious and insisted we go to the washroom and wash them together and I will monitor . She took me to their "washing machines" which were a couple of big buckets which they fill with water and some soap . I asked where the real washing machine was and she did not reply. At this point I demanded the sheets and went down the road to a coin operated laundromat and washed the sheets on 30 minute cycle ! MIRACLE - the sheets came out pure white. I took the sheets (soaking wet) back to the reception and placed them on the counter . The three staff members then proceeded to talk in Thai and point out every possible tiny blemish on the sheets. I then questioned them on their washing techniques and why they lied to me earlier and said they had already washed them . The staff were unapologetic and very rude to me yet again ( I have a voice recording). I demanded to speak to the manager and was assured they would be there the next morning at 10am 10am came and the manager never turned up and I was told she won't make it to the hotel . When I asked to speak to them via phone I was told the manager doesn't have cell reception. Ultimately , I never got to speak with the manager . BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL - severely overpriced for the facilities your receive and staff are con artists trying to make a quick buck from guests.

This is a very clean and relaxing hotel. Love the pool and the room is big. The staffs are very friendly. Just a little miscommunication on airport transfer, but still we will definitely be back again may be in the winter.

We enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. The pool was good, my husband got a good use of it for exercise. Buffet breakfast was good, lots of choices. Location was just a tuk tuk ride away to the huge night market, walking distances to some temples and the river. Staff are okay, one of them arranged for a Thai cooking class for us which turned out to be a great adventure. We enjoyed it very much!

Stayed at this hotel 4 nights and I was really happy with the size of the room, the cleanness of the hotel and the room. The service was a bit slow sometimes but I guess it's Thailand. They were always available. My phone didn't work in my room when I arrived and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes. The only thing is the time it took for the lady to do my check out but it was 430am !. The cushions on the chairs at the pool need to be washed. Great value and service. Location is great if you want to be in the old city.

Stayed for four nights . Depends on your priorities but we found the location convenient to most things though there was a lack of good quality restaurants within walking distance . Breakfast included was pretty good and staff were welcome enough . Rooms comfortable but starting to date a little . Needs a full make over to lift it to 5 star rating .

De Lanna is in the heart of Chiang Mai, within the city square. It is a street away from the Sunday Night Market, a must if you visit on the weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being picked up and dropped off at the airport was very easy. Finally, the breakfast was amazing. The only negative for my stay was that the AC did not work properly in the first room, but the staff quickly moved us. I would definitely recommend De Lanna to anyone who plans to visit Chiang Mai.

Stayed 2 nights over the Songkran Water Festival Booked 2 deluxe rooms (me and wife . Mother in law and our daugther ) We arrived early , and rooms not available to check in , no problem , left luggage and went sightseeing ( wat Singh see my review ) arrived back at hotel at 1pm , checkin 2pm .....but the staff found us in the pool area and said we can go to rooms now . The rooms were on the 3rd floor , ok they have a lift , inside the rooms were spacious , very high ceilings , in the roof . large beds , a lot of storage and wardrobes . Big Tv , dvd player and mini bar . (not badly priced either ) free water . Some nice extra touches ,,Umbrellas , a torch (flashlight for you Yanks ) and slippers The bathroom was a little small , open the door and it fills the room ...but who needs a lot room to do your business .......shower was hot ( eco warmed as well ) and strong . Both rooms the same , However my wife;s mothers room had a bit of an odour , which seemed to get stronger ......by 4pm was very strong . My wife asked the staff to check , which they promptly did , and informed us it was the birds in the roof , nesting . They imediatdly offered to change the room , Nice ... And not only change the room , but upgrade also ......to the Superior room at no extra charge ......VERY NICE . This room was on the ground floor , so my wife wanted to stay with her Mom and Daughter , not a problem because this room was VERY Big ......... more than enough room for 3 people . Big bathroom with shower and bath .....large bed and a small sofa ..... Breakfast : this was fantastic ! a lot of choice and as it happened the choice was perfect for us ( and i guess the other guests , as they tucked in hearterly ) Thai food , Western food , REAL BACON !!! .....Bakery , juices , and even yoghurt all very nice touches . Note to Ownwers : maybe if you have a lot of Chinese guests , maybe a "charge " for left food . Witnessed a number of these guests , fill their table with piles of food , only to eat a THIRD of it ...........wasteful ! Pool area/Garden ........A littel unkempt, i guess the gardeners where on holiday , nothing major just a quick tidy up ......leaves , berries from the trees on the foot paths and tables .....the white cobbles , scattered on the lawn and footpaths .... like i said nothing major but just made the place look unloved . Did not use the pool ........I though my daughter would , but was a little shy of the western girls and boys that lay around .........Nice people but my 13 years Thai daughter is at that age !! Restaurant : We eat here twice . once in the Evening and once for lunch , same menu .......same staff . Staff , very attentive and friendly .....double checked your order . Food : Superb .........well presented , large portions and very good taste ......My family are Thai so know good thai food when they eat it , and they looked the food here , Hence the lunch time visit the next day . Same service and equally same good food . The Hotel : It is a little bit hotch potch , rooms and stairways , hidden gardens and Koi ponds dotted around , I loved this . Also , not sure , but maybe the owner has a lightening shop ! .....LOTS and LOTS of elaborate lighting , in the rooms and public areas ......very arty , Again i liked this . Overall: We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at the De Lanna ......Big rooms with friendly staff and the ease of how they changed our room with minium fuss gives them 5 stars ! ..... Stay again ? for sure .
