Mixed bag, but overall OK
The property was difficult to find for the Grab driver, but itself was alright. It is next to a tattoo parlor and bar, but the bar owner was wonderful and friendly. We were told by a local that we were in the "red light" district, which explained quite a bit.
The residence itself was fine. Living room and kitchen were nice size. The bathroom, was fine, but no outlets. Shower was huge. Upstairs had two bedrooms of good size. I will say the upstairs and stair flooring was breaking down, and multiple times we both tripped over the flooring sticking up.
The host seemed friendly and responsive to emails. I will say that we required a visa extension during our stay, and the host was unfamiliar with the process -- this made it very difficult for us. Also, we did break a chair by simply sitting down on it within the first week of staying there, and we informed the host immediately regarding this. He also came to the residence, and the chair was in the hallway for him to see. At no time did he ask us to pay for the chair (we would have) or express issues regarding this. 4 days after checkout, we have received a charge from him for the chair (fair), but I wonder why he didn't ask when it happened and we informed him, or during his mid-stay visit?????? Also the cost he is asking for seems excessive for the very cheap Ikea type chair that broke. Overall good experience, unfortunate ending to the booking.
