Wonderful dinner at Le Grand Lanna , amazing show during the meal, unforgettable memories at this Lanna Palace. All staffs were so friendly and helpful. Services were excellent. We will definitely come back next time to stay over nights.
This is not just any hotel or resort that I have been to in my life. The whole experience itself is out of this world. If you are into energy healing, this place can offer you that healing energy for your body, mind, and soul. Probably because of the location itself where it is surrounded by nature, and the placement of the buildings nicely tucked in between and also the other amenities where everything flows effortlessly. The staffs were extremely accommodating, helpful and nice. Most of the staffs have been working there for at least 10 to 14 years. Everyone will just come to you with a smile and there is nothing fake about it like in other places where they are obliged to serve you better. The complimentary bike service was special to us because we get to explore the whole area freely without any time constraints. Thank you Dhara Dhevi for restoring our energy and our true selves back to where it should be. Thank you for bringing back the inner God and Goddess inside us, and now we can deal with the world with a better approach and energy. A yearly retreat here is a must!
The hotel is huge. Breakfast has wide spread. Staff are exceptional. Service were very good. We booked a room with a plunge pool but the jeg did not work. We've asked for repair and it cannot be fixed. But the hotel send red wine and macarons as apology. They also called to say sorry and the front desk manager sent a handwritten apology note. I really feel the sincereness of them. Very good service overall. Buggy service is quick and the staff can recognize us and remember our preference. (e.g. our villa number or the way how we prefer our noodle to be made). Food in Thai and Chinese restaruants were great as well. Swimming pool is big and have complimentary ice water and fruit. The hotel is big and in well order. Really nice. The Spa was exceptional as well, though a bit expensive. The treatment was like in heaven. There were some comments saying and complaining the hotel was old and ruin. I disagree and strongly encourage you came and experience it yourselves. My parents in law and my husband also loved the hotel and they all are very pleased with the service here. You may say that its a bit far from town but that's part of the reason why it can be so relaxing. And garb a taxi to the town is easy, typically only 75Bhat, and around 15-20mins
In year 2019, during Songkran Thai new year, we organize one business group to Dhara Dhevi hotel, this is a perfect place to stay and visit, experience the Lanna palace royal style living, all guests are enjoy themselves here. All teams and staffs from hotel are professional , supportive and kind, and everyone try the best to make this remarkable event a success. Hope to see all of you again !
This hotel was so beautiful and cozy. There are rice field, various flowers and lush plants in the extensive landscaped gardens. Traditional Thai style buildings are amazing. Moreover, the staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. We also enjoyed the authentic delicious Thai food at thd restaurant in the hotel. I definitely come back this hotel again!
One of the best properties i have stayed in Thailand. Suites are simply amazing. the rice paddy view isnt much to speak of but everything else is. there is great attention to detail, service levels are amazing, the property is well spread out and offers some activities but they do indulge you in is a luxury level that you will simply be amazed with. Expensive but really an outstanding experience. getting in and out of the property into the city isnt super easy but i recommend spend as much time as you can on the property itself.
Dhara Dhevi was an experience that cannot be forgotten. We came as a couple in May and were treated like queen and king from the getgo. The staff was polite and kind and greeted us everywhere we went. Concierge was kind to reserve carriage tour and dinner for us. We even got a free upgrade to a villa suite with a private outdoor tub! The room was absolutely stunning with two floors in an authentic style villa with a living room, kitchen, and an upstairs bedroom. The indoor jet tub was amazing with the flashing lights and the bath salts on the side! Quick tip: you can use the tub to wash clothes if you add a bit of laundry soap 😂 There was a lizard 🦎 in the room but the staff was so kind as to catch it and put it outside 😂 . There are bugs 🐜 🕷 and creepy crawlies and noises at night so you better be prepared for the true wildlife experience! Many would dock a star for this, but I understand it is very hard in a wilderness to keep these critters out of a traditional style villa. Lots of cats and dogs onsite too! The resort is very empty in May, but very enjoyable to be the only 2 walking around. Sometimes I felt like the Bachelor where it was only us and the staff watching us 😂 We spent a full day at Dhara Dhevi enjoying the pool, activities, etc. Some things we enjoyed: -the free rental bikes: the property is huge and made getting from our villa to lobby easy. -complimentary weaving fish with the Thai grandmas onsite -they give you delicious cookies everyday of your stay :) -complimentary carriage ride -complimentary shuttle rides to city -thai dance performance with our reasonably priced fancy dinner given luxury hotel prices we saw ($46 usd) -the infinity pool overlooking rice paddy fields(sadly lower part was closed) -petting some cute miniature ponies after our swim -golf cart ride with expert on history of Dhara Dhevi and tour of the grounds -the cake shop is amazing! -the library contains so many amazing films and books: a ton to sift through -the breakfast buffet is amazing with many homemade jams and yogurt, is pricey at 1100 baht but worth for one day of your stay! Summary: an experience unlike any other: a luxury cultural experience in the wild!
We were there to celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. We were well received and looked after like royals. The first night we had wonderful dinner with Thai dance performances. The breakfast is sumptuous and had lots of variety. The staff will go to the extend of preparing the food you want even if it’s not in the menu. The rooms are very clean and bug free even though it’s next to a pond and some Padi fields. There is a horse ride for you to go around the palace grounds. The crew is more than happy to give you a ride around the palace to see other amenities and nature. This is one place where you can forget your trouble and relax like a royalty.
This is still a beautiful resort, but it's fully dead. We cut our visit here short. It is a long way out of town and the main buzz of Chiang Mai. There is nothing really to see or do outside of the resort which whilst beautiful becomes monotonous. The most disappointing aspect was how rude and unwelcoming some of the staff were. Not true Thai experience. I wouldn't even recommend a day trip here as its a long way out and not much to see or do here.
It has to said that some of the recent reviews lead to us questioning our decision to return to the Dhara Dhevi but we need not have worried it’s still an amazing resort with top quality staff. On previous visits we have stayed in the Colonial Area which is currently closed. This is a real shame and we hope that the issues in this area are resolved and the resort can be fully open again. It does like this may take some time as there appears lots of work to do. Enough of the bad bits. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right decision. The reception team were immediately on hand to welcome us back and we were greeted by name from the first moment the car door was opened, impressive. The hotel is still amazing the suites are first class. Ours was a residence with its own pool. It was spotlessly clean and in tip top condition. Our butler, Karin, was always on hand to organise anything we needed and to ensure any questions were quickly answered. The breakfast restaurant had everything we could want and the quality of the cuisine was first rate as were all the staff we came into contact with. It was great to see that some of the original staff from our previous visits are still there and this reinforced our view that the hotel has lost none of its original charms. This is still an amazing resort, yes it has got worth work to do to bring the Colonial area back on line but this should not put you off visiting this unique resort, you won’t be disappointed!!!
