A nice hotel in a quiet area in Chiang Mai

800 THB for a room & buffet breakfast. When we wanted do expend our stay they charged us the same rate. The hotel has a small gym & a swimming pool. Lots of eateries near the hotel. For what we paid, I think it provided everything we needed. The only shotcoming is cleanliness as we found lots of hair on the floor.

What to expect at Pangviman Place 1

There are two buildings at Pangviman Place and we were in the older (just 6 years old) building. Great price and value for the money. A few odd things - like toilet in sliding glass doors along with the shower, no bar soap, just shower gel. Breakfast is very good - does not favor western food, very "light" tea also. Pool is salt water and nice - using googles will prevent your eyes from stinging afterward. Lots of staff outside in the parking lot who were helpful. You are just a bit outside the touristy part of town, but close. Not our favorite location, but still great for what you are paying.

nice hotel with beautiful view of bangkok city

Stayed overnight at the hotel and it was very pleasant. The room was very clean and nice. There is a beautiful view of the bangkok city from the main restaurant which is exceptional. There was a lot of selection for the breakfast but will have been good if it was kept warm. There was access to free wifi but only at the the bar area which was quite inconvenient. It will be useful if they can upgrade the wifi to allow access in rooms.

Great value hotel for a family

A comfortable stay for our family of 4. We loved the spacious room and tasty breakfast with a variety of dining options. The staff were always helpful and kind to our children. The only downside, a little out or town, but well worth it for the other advantages.

Not bad for the price

The hotel room was fine. The hotel itself is located near a main road where you can get tuk tuks to anywhere (airport is 150 baht). Most of the staff was good, the only draw back was that the people at Reception did not speak English very well. The breakfast is good, shower fine, internet worked. The neighborhood is alright, though some streets are not well lit at night.

I thought we got what we paid for. My wife was disappointed in the level of the facilities. We had been on tour and staying in 4 and 5 star hotels. I thought it was fine for the one night we spent there. Would only recommend it to someone who wanted a very inexpensive stay in Chiang Mai.

It was okay.Way out of the old town 100 baht tuk tuk there and sometimes more back.Breakfast stops at 09.30.Bad echo in the corridors so you can hear everybody coming and going.Had a leak from the toilet told reception first day,nothing was done to repair it, we were there for 5 days!

Terrible experience in the "old" building.

Let's just start off listing all of the negatives because there is really not much good that can be said about a hotel for this price in Thailand. -The room is dirty -There was a "access door" to the pipes in the wall near my shower that was not closed -The towels were dirty -The sheets were dirty -The walls were dirty -There was dogs outside barking and making noise ALL night. -Walls are paper thin -Not a great location -The breakfast was bland. -If you like hot showers, you can forget about it, just warm.

Very thai. Staff is ok. Breakfast is poor and more for the Asian clientele then western. Its hard to say whats wrong with it, we just did not feel comfortable and moved out after 2 nights.

Hotel was some distance away from the town, the staff were less than helpful arranging any transportation, would rather send you out to the main road to hail a taxi or tuk tuk. On Sunday this was practically impossible to find and i ended up walking about 2 miles before i found one.
