I loved staying here! It was spacious and comfortable with lots of amenities. It’s right in the downtown area, plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. It does get rather noisy during high traffic times and on certain mornings when the pub below gets their food shipments at 5 am. Some of the windows don’t seal all the way which makes it noisier. But I never felt like the windows were a problem—I never once felt unsafe.
It is right next to a tattoo shop and an alleyway, but the building itself felt very secure. There is reserved parking provided immediately adjacent to the door. It’s double keypad protected, one to get into the building and one for the room, which is in its own hallway. It can get tedious.
The place is very old, so certain things are different. As is usual up north, there’s not much AC. There are radiators in every room if it gets cold. You have to be careful how much electricity you use at once so you don’t short the circuit. Other than that, it’s a normal apartment. Pots and pans are in the cupboards and the oven and stove are fully functional. There’s a full size fridge, good for extended stays. Furniture includes a firm king sized bed, a futon, and a dining room table for 4.
As a last note to the hosts, I would suggest a longer shower curtain. The water kind of gets everywhere if you shower for more than a second.
TLDR: Homey, historic, secure, roomy, a little noisy, good for price.
