We’ll be back, Nantahala!

Our stay was excellent! From the moment we made the reservation the hotel staff reached out to us and confirm and to let us know about the hotel. When we arrived, the manager was AWESOME!! She checked us in, gave me a tour, told me about the local amenities and every time we saw her she was friendly and helpful! The rooms were beautiful for it being a 1930-40’s hotel and we had no problems at all. The pool was relaxing and across the street is a great coffee/ice cream/bar and lounge. Super friendly folks there too! We had a fantastic time.

Not As Expected…

We chose this place based on the reviews and the accessibility to the game room and the fishing pond for the kids. With the game room, along with the men’s bathroom and change machine, unfortunately the pool tables were also out of commission with one missing several balls and the other just simply taking our money with no way to recover it. The ping pong table and equipment have definitely seen better days but were usable. The game room stayed pretty hot during the day/early evening as the standard box fan near the door has trouble keeping up. The fishing pond is pretty difficult to fish from the bank, especially for a young kid, due to heavy vegetation, low hanging branches, and very steep slopes around most of the perimeter, as well as fallen trees in the water. Other than that, it was surprising that there is not someone at the front desk in the evenings/nights. Sometimes you may play phone tag if you have a question or need something. Room was fine and clean but for the price we expected a lot more out of the property and the amenities. The kids enjoyed a horse ride from the stables on the property but that was a separate cost. The guides down there were great.

The bed and the outdoor view of the mountains were the only things that were satisfying. Deception of cabin quality was ridiculous. Way overpriced ,staff was courteous, check in was easy. Made birthday getaway a bit sad. Hope they improve true description of historic cabin.

6 mins from NOC where we were going White water rafting. There are no elevators and all rooms are on second floor so you have to be able to navigate stairs. We got there later than planned and directions for late check in were clear and easy! They texted us later to make sure we fot in ok

This was a nice getaway for me and my wife. So clean and cozy. Feel like we found a hidden gem! The staff went above and beyond. It was my wife Birthday and they put flowers in our room for her! Something they don’t mention that was amazing view if you walk to the top of the hill near cabin 23. The view was breath taking. Also the pool was perfect!! We will stay here again for sure!!
