Visited in Feb 2017 with family including 2 young kids. Its about a 1 hr drive from tyke airport and the road is smooth. We had booked Deluxe sea facing rooms. The room size was a little compact but the views from the room of first the pool and then the sea were splendid. The room itself was a little worn out especially the bathroom. Our keycard insert was falling from the wall but other than that it was well maintained. We later visited the sea facing cottages, which though pricier are lovely and on our list for next time. The staff and service was v good, and any requirements in the room were attended to promptly. They were very helpful in preparing food to my 4 yr old daughters taste. Swimming pool was good, kids play area was fantastic, Jiva spa was also v good and cycling around the property was good fun. The overall food at the coffee shop seagull was average. The views from bayview were fabulous. But the best meal we had was at their new restaurant Upper deck. The food, the views, the service and the ambience was all exceptional. Its open only for dinner and they have only 2 seatings , so best to reserve your table as soon as u get there. We had a late flight out and even though the hotel was running full capacity the duty manager went out of her way to accommodate us in another room for the day, which we really appreciate. All in all a great place, especially if going with family. Would love to go again.
Loved the hotel, interior and everyone who worked at the hotel was so nice. Customer service was excellent and so was the food. The staff are very helpful. Loved every bit of it! The location is away from the city, right next to the beach. Very RELAXING!
On the whole, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I booked two sea facing rooms in the Deluxe building. The service was excellent in all aspects and very professional. Mr. Thomas by the main bldg, Basera (sp?) and Kennedy at the Seagull, were extremely hospitable. The rooms were comfortable but I expected more from a Taj hotel. The furniture on the patio was worn down and no warning about construction nearby. The restaurant food was good but not as good as it was when I last visited in the early 2000s. The dosas, omelets, vadas and southern-filter-coffee were very good but the chutneys and curries were not. The beaches were well guarded and clean. Made for two beautiful days, sitting by the beach chairs and looking out at the sea. Also, the view from the Bayview restaurant was splendid. The drinks at the bar were very good and strong. On the whole, we had a very good experience and the very good but not excellent rating is based on high expectations for the premium prices paid at the hotel.
Blissful stay indeed amidst the well kept flora and fauna. Felt really at home. Very friendly and eager to help staff, Great Food, clean and serene Beach. Nice walk ways, swimming pool and a small indoor game room although not seen many using the same. All Assocoates had a welcome smile and looked happy. Only suggestion is to add more activities, guided tours, boat rides. Overall a gem of a resort for you to forget the world and relax and rejuvenate. Thanks Taj!!
Resort Landscape and rooms were well maintained, except for the bathroom which was foul smelling. Food and beverages provided for in-room dining and in the restaurants were good. Package deal chosen was provided as booked.
Once you are inside the property, You will never feel you are In Chennai. I always loved Beach hotels in Goa but this beats them all. Its a beach front property in the true sense of the term. Beautiful Greenery all around the resort. After 6 Pm , you will never feel the summers, Its cool & breezy with so much of tranquility. The Premium Indulgence Garden View room allotted to me was very modern & big in size with a balcony. The rooms allotted to my friends were in the main wing above the lobby which were very small in size with traditional decor. The Bay View Restaurant & Upper Deck aren't to be missed at all. Please do your seaside dinner table reservations well in advance. The Staff & service is really friendly & warm.
We went to Taj Fisherman's cove as this is the closest beach to Bangalore. We loved the beach and resort. It was peaceful, calm, serene and very nice. Food is awesome there. Only con i feel about this property of Taj is it is not well maintained. At many places, wood is old and broken. At restaurants/ breakfast places you can find the sofa being torn off/ wood coming off from the corner. This is a very nice property, if well maintained.
The best stay ever... we could feel the Taj standard from the time we step into the property till we exit, great service, great food, great ambience... look no other option for this cost! Just amazing😍
Here are my highlights of our stay at Fishermans Cove 1) Closest Beach destination from Bangalore. My wife and I love road trips and we couldnt ask for a better drive than our 5 and half hour one to reach Fisherman's Cove 2) We stayed at the sea view room. This if I am not mistaken is the closest cottage to the sea you could get to stay at a resort in India given the Coastal Regulations we have and its so worth the money you spend for the room. View of the Sunrise was beautiful. 3) The architecture of the cottage is that of the 80's and smaller but it makes up with the outdoor shower and a spacious sit out over looking the beach. The rooms are clean and for sure no signs of aging! 4) Two dishes stands out for us A) Mutton Coconut Curry & B) The lobster Grill from The Upper Deck. Breakfast Buffet spread a lil disappointing. The pastries especially didnt taste like they were freshly baked. 5) We have a toddler son and we wanted him to experience the beach and the ocean and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Taj has maintained the beach pretty well and its clean and less crowded.
From the word go on arrival at the Taj Fisherman's Cove, we could sense the warmth and pleasant smiles on the face of the Front Desk Staff. Followed by prompt and smiling Staff at the Coffee Shop with freshly cooked food with fragrance and served with pleasant service. Needless to add, the delicacies served by the Upper Deck and the Bay View. What a location of the Raw beach !!!
