It is the most RACIST hotel I ever stayed! Not Asian-friendly. The front office staff is super racist and only favor Caucasian or White guests. I arrived at the hotel around 8 or 9-ish pm. The IHG member check-in area was not staffed, so I queued up near the counter. I have been waiting there for couple minutes, and more people showed up and lined up after me. Then, two arrogant White men just cut the line and approached one of the front desk staff after the staff just finished checking in another guest. I politely talked to the two White men about the line in case they missed it. They took a peak and ignored what I just said. What's more furious is the front desk lady started to check in the two White men and ignoring the long line and the fact that they were cutting the line! I complained to the lady who checked in me, and she did not bother to apologize and reacted like it's not her business. Later, a lady in a suit approached and welcomed me as a Spire member. I complained to her about it once again, and she kept saying we upgraded your room but no apology at all. It turned out my room got upgraded to a higher floor, but the room type was exactly what I booked. I am Chinese and IHG Spire member. I am grateful for the upgrade but really disappointed about the racism experience, especially given that I am a Chinese staying in a hotel in China and discriminated for being a Chinese.

The location of the hotel was great as was the service. I do think our bathroom could have used an update but the room felt like a typical Crowne plaza. The sky bar was awesome - really good views of the city though they did run out of Tsingtao and bottled water.

Compared to accommodation we had in China the rooms seemed small. Perhaps because we had two single beds. Seemed very expensive to upgrade to Club floor. Faciliteis are good. Set back from a main road so reasonably quiet.

A very nice, clean and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Chengdu ! The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is large and the lavish spread for breakfast buffet has everything anyone can ask for ! The rooftop restaurants offer a wonderful all round view of the city. The bar in the restaurant is well stocked but does not offer much by way of food options. This is within walking distance from the Tianfu Square, not too far from the metro station and ample of shopping options near by. The staff are very helpful and courteous. Four large lifts / elevators ensure that you never have to wait too long for them. The only issue we faced was that the thermostat in our room was not functioning at all and the room was a little too warm to our liking. Even after complaining, this wasn't or couldn't be rectified ! It does look a little dated and old in some places, like carpets in the lobby or passage area etc. But, all in all, a nice place to stay, though I am sure Chengdu has many other similar hotels where you may choose to stay !

Overall good experience, had a pleasant stay, breakfast was great, service superb, building is a bit old, but that does not have an affect of the quality of the stay. Will visit again, and did love the location, very easy getting around in the city center.

I was in and out on a quick overnighter but found everything very easy and professional here. More importantly they had these cute little Pandas on the front desk that I just had to buy for my four grandaughters - they loved them. the room was fine and everything worked perfectly. No complaints from me. The lobby was gorgeous - but ancient Roman and Greek?????.

The hotel is a good functional business hotel in a downtown location . Efficient and friendly staff . Decor is a bit dated and the air con is set at a standard temperature . If you book direct then breakfast was included .

We probably should have spent just a bit more to ensure a more pleasant and relaxing stay in Chengdu. We had seen reviews stating that this hotel is slightly dated. Dated doesn't begin to describe it - this hotel's key feature is the profound and overwhelming mixture of 20+ years of smells that have been locked into its old walls and carpets. I have no problem with peeling paint or scuffed furniture, but bad smells can really turn a fine trip into a total downer. We had to hold our noses everytime we walked the halls, and so when we returned to the room after a long day of hiking or seeing the pandas, the hotel wasn't particularly welcoming or relaxing. The staff did attempt to offer us recommendations on sightseeing; however they were less accommodating when we asked to purchase Haagen Daaz from the freezer in the lobby after it 'closed' at 9pm.

The hotel is in a very good location with lots of restaurants and shopping center near by. The hotel staff are nice and polite and ready to help. The rooms however needs some refurbishment, also the bathrooms. The ally towards the rooms smells of cigarettes, they should work on this.

In addition to being a first class hotel, this beautiful hotel is very well managed and maintained. It is also the home of the Chengdu Rotary Club that invites visiting Rotarians to join in the weekly meetings that include a great dinner!
