For the Cheboygan area, this hotel ended up being a nice place to stay. The rooms were updated and very clean. The staff was friendly. It was a treat watching the fireworks out our back door as the river runs along the back of the hotel. We did not eat at the continental breakfast but it was fine for people on the go.

The highlight was the balcony with the river view. The gym was small, but decent, with a view of the pool and the river. The room itself was ok, except they attempted to level a wobbly toilet with a wood shim!

Room was clean. I had my dog with me, so I appreciated the door leading to the back patio and grassy area. Enjoyed the river view. Prperty is older but well kept. Breakfast options were better than typical continental breakfast including scrambled eggs and biscuits & gravy. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient.
