Cyril E. King International Airport is the main airport serving St Thomas and the busiest in the US Virgin Islands. The majority of the flights that depart from the airport are bound for Miami, Atlanta, San Juan, New York and Charlotte. Services also depart from Cyril E. King International for a number of other airports in the Caribbean as well as cities across the US.
The easiest way to travel from the airport to your destination is to book a shuttle or take a taxi. There are a number of companies on the island offering regular services between the terminal and resorts across St Thomas and neighboring St John so getting to your hotel should be easy.

Although there are plenty of taxis available on St Thomas, fares are charged per person so the cost of catching cabs around the island can quickly add up. As a result, a lot of people opt to hire a car for their stay. Renting a vehicle is not a lot more expensive than taking a taxi and gives you the freedom to get out and explore.
Mopeds and bikes are also available on the island. If you decide to explore St Thomas on two wheels, make sure you wear a helmet as many of the roads are in a poor state of repair and cars often drive quickly.
With two-thirds of St Thomas located within the Virgin Islands National Park, visiting this protected area is almost unavoidable during your stay. An excellent choice of hiking routes crisscrosses the park and camping is available on some of its beaches. The most beautiful stretch of sand in the park is Trunk Bay. One of the most pristine beaches in the Caribbean, it’s a must-see during your time on the island.
For sweeping views of the island and surrounding area, head to Drake’s Seat. Said to be the place from where Sir Francis Drake kept a lookout for the Spanish Fleet, it’s a great spot for a souvenir photo of your stay.
US citizens don’t need a visa or even a passport to travel to St Thomas however it’s always a good idea to carry your ID when travelling overseas.
