When you choose to fly to Lazaro Cardenas in the Mexican state of Michoacan, you'll find yourself in a large port city. You can head to the Manzanillera Beach, which offers a rugged coastal area along with stretches of nice sandy beach. In addition, you may want to head to Temazcalli where you can experience a Mayan sweat lodge and then indulge in a relaxing massage.
Although the city is very industrial with a thriving port, there are multiple beaches located here where you can watch sea life, relax under the sun or go for a swim. They include Las Penas Beach, Caleta de Campos and Azul Beach. In the city's downtown area, there are numerous restaurants offering various types of cuisine.
After arriving at the Lazaro Cardenas Michoacan Airport (LZC), you can get into the city by taking a shuttle or a taxi. Within the city, buses with Futura Transit will allow you to get around to where you want to go. There are also multiple private bus companies that take people to other destinations outside of the city. Average highs range from around the low 50s in January up to around 84 degrees in July. The city hosts several festivals each year, including the Festival Alani and the Semana Santa (Holy Week) Festival.
