Labasa Airport (LBS) is 2 miles outside of the center of Labasa. The city has a tropical climate, with temperatures around 72 degrees from April through October and in the mid-80s from November through March. Fiji Day, held on October 10th, is the city's most popular event. The day is a celebration of national independence. Festivities include colorful parades, dancing, cultural performances and a variety of foods and drinks.
