Fly to Hat Yai this year to experience a major hub of Thailand's culture and commerce. Immerse yourself in the local culture with the city's unique markets, famous massages and beautiful landmarks like Wat Hat Yai Nai. Hat Yai is a popular destination for foreigners to get away and experience a fresh new locale.
Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary provides beautiful local scenery just a short trip from the city proper. The highlight is Ton Nga Chang Waterfall, where visitors are encouraged to leap in the water and play. Hat Yai Municipal Park provides natural beauty right in the heart of the city, with gardens, a park and food stalls. Hat Yai Floating Market provides an opportunity to experience the local culture and try Thai delicacies. This hectic market sells food along with some handcrafted goods.
Hat Yai International Airport (HDY) offers access to the city via taxi. For a slightly higher charge, you can charter an airport limo. Minivans offer cheaper service to your destination. Taxis are prominent throughout the city, and many of the taxi services consist of tuk-tuks and motorized bikes. Consider renting your own motorbike to get around at your own pace. Temperatures remain fairly consistent year round. Average highs fluctuate between the mid-80s and mid-90s, and lows consistently average in the mid-70s. The Hat Yai Lantern Festival runs through the first few months of the year and features a beautiful display of colors and sights for visitors.
