Fly to Grand Island
Travelers visiting Grand Island can experience some of the most interesting landmarks and museums in the central United States. Because of its location near both the Platte River and the path of the Oregon Trail, the city played a major role in the development of the American prairie.
Head to the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center or the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer. Outdoor attractions include the Island Oasis Water Park and the Heartland Public Park. The Hornady bullet manufacturing plant offers free tours on weekdays. Novice and veteran golfers alike will enjoy Jackrabbit Run, an 18-hole public course designed by Frank Hummel. Outdoor activities abound, and shopping is available at the Conestoga Mall or in the city's historic downtown district.
