During your trip to Dehradun, you'll have plenty of opportunities to go shopping at the different markets and bazaars and there are areas throughout the city where you can buy locally made clothing and unique trinkets. The city is also near some great walking paths at the base of the lowest range of the Himalayas.
If you're traveling with your family, Fun N Food Kingdom is the perfect place to spend a day. This amusement park is filled with rides including swing chairs, roller coasters and a Ferris wheel. Fun N Food Kingdom also has a water park, which is a great way to cool off during the warmer months. Astley Hall is an outdoor shopping area with shops where you can rent scooters to cruise around the city. Some of the other popular shopping areas are at the Paltan Bazaar, the Tibetan Market and Mall Road. The trails that lead up into the Himalayas offer opportunities for a scenic hike and you can go on a boat tour across the waters of the Asan Barage.
