I paid extra so I could have an assigned seat. I was assigned the last row on the airplane(s). I had to reassign my seats. Someone not paying extra would have had a better seat. I don't understand why I did not Get to pick in the first place by paying extra. Lesson learned

Fly to Bristol

When you fly to Bristol, you will be in a city that is divided by the Virginia-Tennessee state line. Both sides of town contain numerous parks, music venues and shopping centers that feature nationally known names. Bristol is home to some of motorsports most exciting racing and has also been designated as the birthplace of country music because of recordings that took place there in 1927.

Attractions

The city is home to Bristol Motor Speedway, known as the world s fastest half-mile track, where NASCAR holds major events two weekends each year. Adjacent to the speedway is Bristol Dragway. Major drag races are held there annually with local drag racers competing weekly. If you are a music lover, you can visit the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance museum. Steel Creek Park provides opportunities for picnicking, fishing and golfing in a family-friendly atmosphere. Drive across town and you can spend the day at Sugar Hollow Park. It has a campground, picnic and playground section, as well as softball and soccer fields.

Hints and tips

When you fly to Bristol, you will arrive at Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI), where you can choose from several rental car companies that have offices onsite. Each September downtown comes alive with the annual Rhythm and Roots Reunion, a music festival that brings in hundreds of performers and thousands of visitors. Low temperatures average 25 degrees in the Winter, and typical Summer highs are in the mid-80s.
