There was unexpected extra fees

Price was right. Room had some problems - lamps and believe or not the Radio weren't working. They offered to send someone up, but we declined, preferring to go to sleep that night. Staff was good, bed and TV good. The bathroom could have used at least a little bit of counter space - essentially, there was none. The place is clean and fine for an overnight stay in NYC if you don't mind being on the northern tip of Manhattan. Great access to GW Bridge.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in!

the location and breakfast and some of the staff are clearly a great value. However the bathroom in general are not at par with a 2* star hotel. The closet door was broken. The shower only had a curtain and floor corners had signs of aging and sticky. On second day while I was on a work call, the house keeping lady comes in and even if I told her to come later as I’m in a call, she didn’t bother she kept coming in and dumped towels on my luggage and was checking the closet door. I told her to go and come back. She have a look and left and that day they didn’t clean the room. The bathroom soap gel was not refilled on day 2 as the lady decided not to come. And you are given only 1 travel size gel. The 3rd day was pleasant. But overall for what I paid I was tad upset. In short I will have marked it as very good if the housekeeping didn’t mess up and bathroom has more soap and was not sticky.

This is the 4th year my spouse and I have visited. We love location (2.5 miles from local idiots at Beachplace area hotels), beach access, and spacious suites. Over time, we dine there less and less. Prices are high, and the quality of the food doesn't support the price. One thing I noticed on this trip was tighter control on towels and pool area seats. I asked for that because last year it seemed like a third to half of people occupying pool area seats were not staying at the hotel. They bragged and laughed about it. This time, the paying guests and their families could get seats this time. I appreciate the actions taken. Less positive - improved elevator service has been promised for at least 4 years. One guest elevator was out of service for our entire, 4 night stay. I have to give that a "Really?" Notes for first time guests - When adjusting lights and fans, it's not you. I think that's how those appliances are configured in Scandanavia. Also, consider using bath clogs. The walls, flooring, and soaps in the guest room bathrooms are a recipe for a cracked skull. Love the place. Will come back.

Overall experience was great! However, they need to fire the current house keeping. They’re lazy and you walk into a dirty room with stains and hair everywhere . Thank God they upgraded me to a one bedroom suite which made me give them a 5 star. There were dozens of people complaining of dirty rooms. Fire management if they cannot hire quality housekeepers.
