Disappointing stay

Expensive. Our superior room was on two levels which meant we would have had to go down stairs in the dark for the loo. So we opted for another room with a shower over the bath. The shower head had to be hand held as the bracket attaching it to the vertical rail was loose and so the shower slipped down. The bed was hard. We could not have dinner that evening as the dining room was fully booked. Breakfast was excellent with a comprehensive buffet and the staff were very helpful. The hotel is pleasantly situated on the edge of a pretty small town with two lovely monasteries to visit. Comment: It would be helpful for more information about the hotel facilities to be available when booking thro’ Expedia

Super modern hitel

Located just outside the charming ancient town of Charlieu, this modern hotel is super clean with large rooms. Conveniently across the street is a supermarket with gas station, perfect for grabbing snacks and enjoying wine and cheese in the hotel garden. An ample breakfast is served upstairs, and the prices are right.

Sparkling clean, completely refurbished hotel

Just off main road past town but very quiet as set back in own grounds and only few minutes walk into centre of Charlieu. Extensively and very successfully refurbished last year - light, airy and beautifully presented throughout. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely restaurant in large all-glass terrace looking onto a large field with grazing Charollais cattle. Separate and very good breakfast room. Just delightful.

A gem in France

Hotel appeared to be brand new. Restaurant service was excellent from everything from order taking, pouring wine, etc... Food was very nice. Outside eating area had great view of pasture next door with 6 cows.
