Stayed one night with 18 month old baby in very hot weather. 2 rooms per appartment with kitchen - living area and outside terasse, all was very clean. Good bedding, confortable seating, sound proof and air-con (which was a plus with the extreme heat). The rooms were nice but maybe in need of reviewing certain details. Staff were efficient, car park very pratical. All in all good value for money.
Easy to find. Very welcoming reception. Accommodation very good. Better than expected kitchen facilities, well equipped. Sauna and steam room very clean, nice to use, an added bonus. Secure parking. Recommend highly.
Reception staff efficient, friendly and helpful. Accommodation exceeded expectations, have not used this type beforehand. Four burner hob, microwave, good size fridge freezer and dishwasher. It was pleasantly decorated. Welcome pack (cleaning materials) most useful. Sauna and hamman, most relaxing.
Completely equipped, modern looking appartments with all you need, including kitchen and second bedroom, very good parking, noted an outdoor swimming pool and there may be other amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. They offer good prices out of season, but they would be of most interest for families with small children and small boat enthusiasts. There is a boat rental business near by. A nearby supermarket will cater to those who want to do their own cooking. La Rochelle and a beach are over 20 kilometers away, though.
We stayed here for one night on our way further south. Everything we needed for a stopover. My daughter and I were able to have a swim in the pool. Supermarket near by and the river where you can hire small motor boats for a cruise. Good location and adequete apartments. Receptionist very helpful.
I was on my bike touring in France and only stayed one night. The reception was very friendly and they immediately understood that my bike would need a home for the night and they made sure that it was secured properly for me. The facilities are great at this property and the suites are spacious, modern and clean. The low season rates here are a bargain and I would recommend for families as well as lone travelers like myself who can enjoy some extra space to relax into.
Good price and great for if you want a few nights were you can stay in and relax. Super U (a supermarket) is 2 minutes walk from the complex. The rooms were clean but the shower facilities were old and worn. Lots of limescale. Towels had marks on them and a few pillows had hairs on. We had brought our own towels and managed to use the spare pillows. The kitchen facilities were good, and access to a hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. It was also had good laundry facilities. The wifi is quite slow and cuts out quite a lot so don't expect to do more than check emails - mornings were much quicker for this. The poolside was very clean and maintained every day! My only suggestion for anyone going there is to request an apartment upstairs as you can hear everything that's going on up stairs including the television. Not everyone is considerate at 2am when they are walking their elephant to the toilet or deciding to watch the television at its loudest.
We spent a weekend here after completing our business in La Rochelle, in the beginning of November. Bearing in mind this is most likely a summer holiday accommodation, our review reflects the seasonal discrepancies from the other reviews. The location was 22km from La Rochelle, but we had a rental car, and there was free parking on the property. There is a supermarket and gas station right next door, so it was very convenient to prepare one's own meals in the apartment. We arrived at about 5.30pm in the evening, which corresponded nicely with the check-in time from 4pm onwards (this may annoy some travelers, and we can understand, because it is rather late if one is keen to start the holiday fun). The check-out time did annoy us somewhat; 10am is also earlier than most establishments, and nobody wants to wake up early on holidays just to meet a check-out deadline, or risk paying extra. The receptionist was in fact, just about to leave when we came to check-in, and she hastily explained that no one would be in over the weekend. The main gate required a security code to access, and we were provided with an emergency number to call. It didn't bother us much that no one was around, frankly. The guests upstairs of us were noisy but they did stop the racket before midnight so we just let it slide. For what we paid, we were quite delighted by the size of the apartment we were assigned. We were travelling as a couple, but the apartment had another room with a bunk bed (for children), and the couch in the living room folds out into a bed too. The place was clean, and the kitchen was very well-equipped (although we had to bring our own sponges and dishwashing detergent). The bathroom sink was a bit small, but the place was otherwise fine. There were plenty of fresh towels in the cupboard. The heating worked very well, which was crucial since at this time of the year, it gets cold and miserable in the west coast. There was also a sauna and Turkish steam bath we tried, and although the gym was a little small, there was at least a couple of cardio machines and a weights station. The swimming pool was closed, so we cannot comment on that. We don't know how it's like in summer, but simply as a place to stay for a weekend in low season, we quite enjoyed the experience. And given the price we paid, we don't really have much to complain about.
We really enjoyed our stay at Park & Suites, Marans. For seven days we had peace and tranquility...but; do be aware that 'marais' means swamp. What does swamp mean? Mosquitos. You'll get bitten. This is a nice place but you'll get bitten. The servicing of the apartments and customer service is fine but you'll get bitten. The Pool is great but you'll get bitten. One quarter of the complex burned down and as of August 13 was cordoned-off and a hulk. I was happy with our deal, the Marais is a beautiful place,( see photo,) but take your mosquito repellent!
When arriving, already we saw at the windows tens of flies; entering with our children in the rooms was a nightmare: hundred of flies. After killing them in about one hour and after returning from a trip, we came back to find as many flies again. Personnel was not very willing to help us (only with an anti-fly spray to use during the night!) and said the room was just cleaned ; we almost became crazy: sleeping with our little children in this place? We finally managed to get another appartment (a client arriving only 1 day later); but the impression was made: NEVER AGAIN! Is not oriented towards families with children; more for young groups of friends ...
