The hotel has free parking area inside, I booked a family suite with 2 rooms & balcony with sea view. The hotel is very clean & has a very nice atmosphere. The staff are super polite & professional. It is around 20 min walk from the old port.
We stayed in this quietly located seafront hotel for three nights. Our 5th floor room (56) had a balcony overlooking the sea towards the marina. The room was well decorated, very clean, modern and included tea and coffee making facilities. Plenty of water based activity to watch from the balcony. The sound of the sea lapping the wall of the hotel was very relaxing. The dining room and ground floor garden terrace made a good place to take breakfast. The breakfast was good with juices, yoghurts, cerels, boiled eggs and a selection of thinly sliced cold meats and cheese. Bread basket and delicious croissants. Pots of tea and coffee. However we thought that it was a bit overpriced as there were no hot foods such as scrambled egg, bacon, sausage etc. The hotel is situated 25minutes walk from the old port which is where many of the restaurants are located. The hotel staff gave us a great recommendation for our first night and were generally very helpful with our requests for maps and other information. A bus stop is located outside the hotel and buses run every half hour if you prefer not to walk €1.30 pp. The bus service stops in the early evening and we took a taxi home. Cost approx €8. Whilst we were staying there we went on a very good 2hour boat trip and also visited the Ile de Re by car (apps 30mins away and well worth the trip). We would recommend this hotel and stay there again.
This is a very good small hotel. We opted for it rather than a hotel in the centre of La Rochelle and we definitely will stay here again. The views from the sea facing rooms are great with a never ending procession of boats of every size to to watch. The terrace area is lovely and breakfast is served there weather permitting . The walk into La Rochelle is through a park along the coastline-15-20 mins. We hired a car as we were also staying on the Ille de Re- the hotel has a free car park. Taxis do seem to be a bit of a problem in La Rochelle esp at the airport. We look forward to a return visit. .
No worries: If you arrive at the hotel the first impression from outside is not really "convincing". But: Inside all fine. Very new room, very cosy, nice terrace, super friendly hosts. Only downside: If you would offer at least some snacks over lunch time...
Stayed here for one night en route from Spain to the ferry. The welcome was genuinely warm and friendly. The hotel sits on the sea edge in a quiet part of La Rochelle which is a 15 min walk through a park also at the sea edge. The hotel is clean and well decorated and the breakfast delicious. Will definitely return.
This was a nice hotel. Lovely decking area at the back to sit out. It is about a 25 minute walk to the beach and maybe 35 to the town. I booked it because the pictures made it look like it was on the beach. It is but barely could call it a beach and not able to sit on it really. It did us well for visiting La Rochelle but was overpriced for the location as not in the town and also what you get.
Stayed here with my family. Hotel staff very attentive, hotel clean and welcoming. Buffet breakfast was vast and replenished regularly. Safe underground car park for car. Perfect spot to explore La Rochelle, 1 mile walk to town and harbour, which has a lovely beach. Lovely view of harbour from terrace of restaurant, where you can sit or lounge and watch the boats pass by. Would recommend.
We loved this hotel, the rear facing rooms have great views out to sea and back towards the town. The staff were really friendly and helpful and even lent us an adaptor as we'd mislaid ours. Gluten free bread was provided for my partner who has coeliac disease all it took was a note online when booking. It's a mile into town but a lovely walk, sea on one side, parks on the other. There is a bus stop nearby and also hotel bikes if you are feeling more energetic. Breakfast was good but only boiled eggs in terms of hot food. Tea making facilities were in the room as was a mini fridge. Hotel is a short drive from La Rochelle Airport, taxi less than 20 euros. Rooms are quiet as hotel set back from road and only the sound of the sea on the sea facing side . Definitely plan to stay at Les Brises again.
We have stayed here three times in all.The rooms are a little dated and this time we had plastic mattress covers on our bed. Noisy if you have a room facing the court yard. A little pricey for the standard of the accommodation The good points are they have free parking although the underground parking area is very tight Staff pleasant
I gave the hotel 4 stars but it could so easily have been 3. The views just edged it. A spacious room which was clean and tidy and cleaned daily. There were double doors to a small balcony which had two chairs and a table. There was also an electric shutter which helped keep the heat out during the day. No air conditioning or ventilation in the bathroom which made some of our nights extremely hot and uncomfortable. You could keep the doors open which may then be windy but helps. Mosquito's do then have access ! There is no dressing table but a small round table with 2 chairs. The wardrobe space was not adequate for 2 people staying a week and only 6 hangers. You cannot hang any long clothes as the fridge and kettle are in the bottom of the wardrobe and strangely enough the kettle is fixed so cannot be moved. The kettle only came with 1 tea bag and 2 coffees and 2 small milk pots ! You need to move your clothes to prevent them from being steamed if using the kettle. A free safe is also in the wardrobe which has 5 sections for other clothes to be laid flat. The room has a long mirror. A large good quality TV has 4 English channels incl. BBC1 / 2 and world news. The bed is King size with no storage either side except a small shelf. There are adequate sockets in the room with 2 USB charging sockets one side of the bed only which did not work. The Shower room is large with a separate toilet. Towels are a touch thin. No information book in the room. Free wifi was reasonable on the 4th floor and far better downstairs. A lift goes to the underground garage where we parked our small car. It was a good job it was small as the spaces were tight, although there are some spaces outside. Breakfast from 7 to 11 am and consisted of the usual cold fare. I was disappointed with the bread available, only Baguette and small rolls. A couple of days there were no rolls left or brioche. There were also Croissants and choc pastries, No toaster. You could boil your own egg which is the only hot food available. Plenty of fruit but much of it not ripe. The fruit salad was pretty much all apple and bought in. Coffee was quite good as was the orange juice. After 7 days bread and jam was a touch boring. The meat and cheese was cheep fare and had little taste. There is a very good sun bathing area with sun loungers and brollies but no pool. No towels provided for sun bathing in the room but we asked at receptions and a bath towel was provided. The view from the rooms facing the sea and the patio area is lovely. It is just over a mile to La Rochelle were there are numerous restaurants. It can easily be walked along the front and through a park although there is a car park near the port entry and this is free after 6 pm and the charge is minimal earlier. There is one bar approximately 150 yds from the hotel (left turn) which sells drinks only at night but does provide food at lunchtime. No food is provided at the hotel at lunch or in the evening. It is quite an expensive Hotel which came out at 180 Euros per night incl breakfast and taxes
