We stayed at Taj Chandigarh recently. The staff at the hotel is awesome and one of the most welcoming that I have come across. Out housekeeping person was Meena and she made the stay a very memorable one. we were in Chandigarh to attend a wedding and this Taj did not have a salon in their spa. This was our first time in Chandigarh and I was not familiar with the place. Meena offered to help us on her own and happily spent a couple of hours getting my daughter and myself ready. She even helped get some flowers from her back room for our hair dos which truly delighted my daughter. She more than made up for the lack of a salon at his property and made our stay a truly memorable one. The hotel rooms were quite dated and need some serious renovation to qualify for a five star Taj property. Had it not been for Meena and their friendly staff, our stay would be pretty average.
The service is good but the amenities were basic. Could have had more opulence in the room and the Club Lounge was not functional. But its always good to stay at the Taj so will go back again for sure !
Nice location close to commercial hub. Large well appointed rooms . Food quality good.Helpful staff . Nice bar and a separate room for smokers . Hotel has an spa , though couldn’t use it as it was Pre booked .
It was an overall satusfa Tory and comfortable stay at Taj, Chandigarh. The hotel is centrally located in Sector 17, with ample opportunities for shopping and eating out. The staff is very helpfuk and cordial.
Stayed for 2 nights along with my family , awesome gesture by the hotel staff . Nicely located .Spa services are the best in this hotel .Food is awesome and kid friendly breakfast options . Book under stay-cation offers to get maximum benefit.
Probably my most disappointing experience of a Taj Hotel. This is a busy city hotel relying on a quick turnaround of business and airline customers. From the car which arrives late to pick us up from the station, to the unwelcoming restaurant, full of important looking managers, but no one wanting to provide service, this is not a welcoming experience. They should send all their staff to the Taj at Amritsar to learn how to truly make guests feel welcome. Even the bedroom furniture feels like IKEA.
Very nice property. Well decorated, Rooms are clean and good sized. Its biggest plus point is that its in the very heart of town and you can get to the best of restaurants and shopping within minutes. The only downside is -not very good food in the restaurant. But thats OK because you can walk outside to some of the best restaurants
This Taj also meets the Taj standards remarkably well. Very smooth registration, helpful staff. The room in the fourth floor was facing very good greenery. The complimentary cookies and fruits was a bonus. Enjoyed the stay
This is a very pleasant hotel but to be truthful it’s in the middle of nowhere. I mean you are in the heart of Chandigarh but it’s impossible to get anywhere very easily in this sprawling city. Yes u can get a motor rickshaw or taxi but there’s nothing of any interest in the immediate vicinity which is quite rundown. So here you have a lovely hotel in a not particularly pleasant place. Other than the ale Coubusier architecture there is little of interest. (The Court buildings however are very interesting). The hotel room was pleasant but the organisation of the restaurants was somewhat chaotic. The breakfast buffet left much to be desired and it was a free for all on a busy day. The restaurant (Indian) within the hotel was exceedingly disappointing and we possibly experienced it on a bad day as it was a holiday for local people. The world and his wife were there with screaming children who were allowed to run riot. Children were even being brought into the hotel restaurant at 9 pm and allowed to run around - not the hotels fault admittedly but they failed to handle the situation to the annoyance of other guests. A swim would have also been most welcome at the end of the evening but again screaming children prevented any decent swim and relaxation outside was therefore impossible. The Taj sounds rather grand and the price we payed it should have been. Sadly it was not what we expected and I would not recommend this hotel. This of course is my own personal opinion and others may have had a more enjoyable stay. We talked to the general manager on two occasions and although he was very nice the hotel was unable to manage when there were a lot of guests in the hotel and it wasn’t because of the lack of staff, they had plenty, but the inadequacy and uncertainty of the staff left a lot to be desired.
