Village des Oursons Chalet B

We liked EVERYTHING! The place was lovely and quiet, with a view of Mont Blanc from the front verandah. It was a touch difficult to find, despite being provided with written instructions (there are multiple chalets which are all well spaced from each other - we did not originally know this and that we had to look for a particular lettered chalet). The neighbours however were nice enough to help us find our chalet and the apartment in it. As we had a car, we found the place to be in a great location as well, being far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Chamonix's centre, yet close enough to everything that we wanted to do in and around Chamonix. It was very well equipped and we appreciated the little provisions that had been left for us to get started on our 8 night stay. The building itself was such a cute little timber chalet - thick timber beams, wooden shutters, and skylights through which we could observe the stars at night. There was a washing machine in the bathroom and the toilet was in a separate room, which made things easier. Drying racks were provided and there was plenty of room to place them on the verandah, which was mostly covered so the clothes could dry even if it rained. The only minor things that could have improved our stay would have been a printed map with the location of the big bins, as they are a little way from the chalet and our phone was not one that could read the QR code which would have had such information. As there are so many things to see and do in the area, another thing that would have been helpful is printed tourist brochures and/or suggestions of what to see and how to get to those attractions. Although there is a tourist office in Chamonix, finding parking outside it during busy times can be difficult. Overall however, it was absolutely wonderful and we would love to come back again.
