The nearby slopes are ideal for intermediate and experienced skiers. Some of the higher slopes offer skiing later in the season, sometimes up to early May. Chamonix’s market, Place du Mont Blanc (12-minute drive), takes place every Saturday morning throughout the year. There are free shuttle services between Argentière and Chamonix, either by bus (22 mins) or by train (18 mins) on the Mont Blanc Express.
