Mazot Mer de Glace, Chamonix, France

A charming little chalet set on the edge of the village of Les Tines in northern Chamonix. This house, with a private garden and looking out over the forests, sleeps 3 people in comfort. It makes the perfect base for relaxing in nature and exploring the Mont Blanc region all year round.

Built entirely from timber the cosy interior consists of an open-plan living area on the ground floor, with a separate bedroom and bathroom. There is another sleeping area on the mezzanine level with ladder access and low ceiling height. At the front of the chalet there is a raised deck with chairs where guests can relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air. The front door opens from the deck into the living area. This is furnished with a sofa, a pretty wood-burning stove, and a dining table with chairs. The open kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, fridge and washing machine.

The private garden, which is partly surrounded by mature trees and has wonderful mountain views, includes a dining table and benches for meals al fresco.

Bedroom 1: On the ground floor this cosy bedroom has a single bed and a wardrobe.
Extra: The mezzanine, reached by ladder from the living room, is tucked under the wooden eaves. It is furnished with a double bed. Please note the ceiling height is low.

The attractively tiled bathroom has a shower, washbasin and W.C.

Location
The apartment is located between Chamonix (8 minutes) and Argentière (9 minute drive), with excellent access to all of Chamonix’s amenities. Chamonix is well-known for the wide variety of both winter and summer activities on offer. It is a centre for skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, sledging and ice skating. The Grands Montets cable car station (6 minutes) takes visitors up to the high slopes for skiing or hiking, depending on the time of year.

In the summer months there are numerous options including hiking and biking, rock climbing, mountaineering and white-water rafting. Chamonix golf club is just a 2 minute drive. Parc d’Accrobranche, La Foret Magique is just a 3-minute walk. Packed with zip wires, climbing frames and walls and other games it is huge fun for the whole family.

The area has many fine restaurants and bars, which will suit all budgets and ages. For self-catering – Chamonix market in Place du Mont Blanc (6 minutes) takes place every Saturday. Argentière’s market is every Sunday morning. Both offer the chance to pick up the best, freshest local ingredients.

Geneva airport is a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from the apartment. Whilst Les Tines railway station, which offers free train services to other resorts on the Mont Blanc Express, is just a 1 minute walk away.
