Exuberant because the folks here are truly excited to have you experience a wonderful stay at Chama River Bend Lodge. Happy to serve you is not a strong enough word to describe the personnel. Take Shayna, for example; to perform housekeeping is outstanding but to do so with spirit is exuberant. Thank you Shayna. Contented because the folks here are really real and genuinely want you to have an authentic experience. Take Wendy and Ray, for example; they know who they are and moreover, whose they are. They serve with a contentedness that allows you as a visitor to feel welcome and at peace during your stay. Thank you Wendy. We would choose CRBL again and hope you do too. Michael and Kim.
Great place to stay! The rooms were clean and the staff accommodated us. We stayed for one week and needed to extend our stay one more night (for business) but they were full due to something going on in town. As soon as they had a a cancellation, the front desk let us know and we didn't have to move to another motel. We travel a lot and no other motel has provided such great service.
Stayed here three years ago and was not impressed but, whether a management change or something else, it's improved. This trip we stayed in one of the 'cabins' and it was clean and well equipped so I was glad we gave it another chance.
This property has hotel type rooms and cabins. I stayed in the hotel. The room I stayed in was very nice. The room was fairly large and had 2 beds in it. It came with Directv, I did not use the WIFI. The shower and toilet area is small and I found to operate the shower a little hard. They stock the room with coffee and a coffee maker. I didn't like the hairdryer, it had a very short cord and had like a night light with it. I had to unplug that hairdryer so the light would not bother me at night. I do wish the mattress had been more comfortable. The staff at the lodge are wonderful and welcoming. I recommend this property and would stay there again. I'm a lone female and felt very safe there,
I got lots more than I expected. Rooms were nice and clean. They have a great big area for kids to play ball, volleyball net and swing with slide set. Big BBQ area and fire pits. And they even have cabins for daily or weekly rental. Oh yeah almost forgot the 3 bedroom home you could also rent on property. And it right by the river. Owners were great on giving us ideas on what to do around the area besides the train ride.
This is a motel with cabins. We were in the motel potion. We stayed here 3 nights. The room was very clean. The room was spacious for a motel and had 2 queen beds a small table w/ 2 chairs to eat at. The room was equipped with refrigerator and microwave which we used, and plenty of electrical outlets for charging our phones, etc. It’s a log cabin feel with a large cabinet for storing your luggage. The staff was very friendly and replenished in-room coffee packets every day. The bathroom was a little small and a bit dated but the shower worked great with very hot water. Considering the area, this hotel was one of the best. It is also located out of the “downtown“ area so it is a bit nicer. Overall, it is an excellent value. We definitely plan to stay here again the next time we visit Chama.
The owner was wonderful and very helpful. We were in the motel part and the room was comfy and cosy. Very spacious and the bed was perfect. The room has a "woodsy" feel to it. Would definitely come back to stay.
Beautiful lodge to visit. Clean and Cute cabins and comfy rooms. Staff is very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable. They will make you feel at home. Beautiful grounds with river front access. Playground for the kids. Fire pits are a bonus.
Great accommodations, very clean, friendly, knowledgeable staff, immaculate grounds. We stayed in a loft cabin. Kitchen had plenty of cooking pots, dinnerware....even a crockpot? There 2 adults and 5 kids in our group with plenty of room to spread out. Wish we could have stayed longer
We booked the house for our vacation in Chama - we were there to ride the train. The house was advertised as having a fireplace (it was not working during our stay) WIFI (it did not reach the house you had to go to the lodge/ cabin area next door which we did not want to do) with a BBQ grill (no grill at the house you had to work to the cabin area next door - far from ideal) the lounge area was great in the house (maybe need some more chairs for larger groups) Kitchen was not well equipped - example no wine glasses - no cleaning supplies so when we dropped something on the floor there was nothing to clean it up with. TV had a good selection of channels - but there were no TV's in any of the bedrooms - bedrooms had no door on the closets - bathrooms were nice and clean but the toiletry basket in the master was empty so there was not shampoo or conditioner etc - luckily the supermarket was close by. In addition to this there were no smoke alarms which is normally standard in hotel/cabin accommodation. Overall it was a nice place but to get a 5 star rating it needs some improvement on the fixtures and fittings and they need to provide what they say is included in the price - which was not during our stay.
