Short but very comfortable stay at the Snowed Inn. Exactly as represented. Room was clean and comfortable with modern shower and bathroom. Cozy public areas. Tasty breakfast (and yes, the waffles are delicious). Very pleasant stay.
Pretty basic accommodation, and difficult to find someone to check in, but once found very friendly. Bed very comfy, room clean and shower good. Breakfast was pretty good too, so ticks all the boxes and it was the cheapest accommodation on our tour
We stayed here recently during a ten day vacation in the Adirondacks and Vermont. It was the most disappointing room we had on the trip. First, our room was on the lower level with a window looking out on the back of the property. I felt like we were in the basement. The room itself was small with a lack of horizontal space and since there were three of us, that was an issue. The beds were full, not queen if I remember correctly. Wi fi was iffy in our room. On the plus side, they had a coffee (and tea) and hot water machine in the lobby, but only instant decaf....pods would be a better alternative for those of us who can’t have caffeine. No decaf for breakfast either. (Only instant) They also have a jacuzzi which my granddaughter enjoyed. Overall, okay for an overnight stay but I think the size of our room would be an issue for a longer stay. Room was clean. No air conditioning, although it was cool that night so we didn’t need it. Location is convenient.
Stayed here on our way to the east coast. Check in time is after 3:00 PM. Rolled in at 5:00 PM to find no one. Rang the buzzer. Nothing. Knocked on the office door. Nothing. No desk phone. Eventually found a note with our name on it, telling us what room we were in. There were no keys. Searched all over. No keys. Had to call them via cell phone, incurring roaming charges since we were from outside of the US. I asked for the keys. The woman (a millennial) that answered asked if we were going out. Um, we were going to go to dinner. She sounded like we were inconveniencing her. She later called back and said a guy would come by. He (another millennial) eventually showed up with the keys. No apology. The A/C is a floor unit with a duct that goes out the window. That means that you can't lower the blind completely. So much for privacy. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. When we checked out, we canceled our reservation for the return trip with one of the millennials. There were no questions asked. Also followed up with an email to make sure. Here, too, no questions were asked. Got dinged for a cancelation fee. We then rolled over to the Killington Motel and made a reservation for our return visit. They were very accommodating and cost a lot less.
The hotel's website does not represent the true nature of Snowed Inn. In fact, I am surprised at some of the positive reviews and have to wonder if they are real. We booked the Master Suite for two nights in July at a price of $260 per night. When we were escorted to our room we were informed that the only air conditioning was in the bedroom and not in the living room. While checking in, Shannon the manager made a comment that she felt as though she had heat stroke, so yeah it was hot! The bedroom air conditioner was on 4 wheels and had a hose running from the back through a hole made in the wall of the room to the outside. Needless to say it was hot and noisy all night as the little air conditioner that could only sounded like it could. Then there was the hard as a rock bed which is represented a queen, but in reality is a full, much two small for two adults both around 6' tall to sleep in. When things couldn't get any worse, there are the parking lot flood lights that shine into the bedroom all night and no black shades are made available. Overall the place is old and uncomfortable to the point where you can't get a goodnight sleep.
Stayed in the studio suite. Suite was nice & well decorated. A couple minor complaints...there were no tissues & the wifi was very spotty. We cooked & ate in. Kitchen supplies were adequate. There was a coffee pot w filters but no coffee. We just bought a bag from the market around the corner. We did not partake in the breakfast. Side note my boyfriend kept hitting his head on the tapered ceiling on the sides, lol.
We have been visiting the Snowed Inn for over 25 years and always a pleasant stay. The owners,Manfred and Jeanne are great hosts, and pride of ownership shows in very detail. The room are comfortable and extremely clean. But what we enjoy the most is the double sided fireplace in the lobby area. The fire is burning each evening with plenty more firewood at the ready. Great breakfast available to guest and Manfred there to greet you and ready with some tips of skiing that day. Don’t forget to check out Manfred’s skiing trophies in the greenhouse alcove.
The Snowed in has a very nice central location on the main Killington road. The room was comfortable and clean, we had a good nights rest. Lots of restaurants around the inn to choose from. It a little off the main road and that’s good as it’s a little quieter and not as commercial looking an Inn
Accommodations were perfect. Room was very nice and very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Looks to have been renovated recently. Staff/owners are very nice. Perfect little breakfast and coffee before heading out to ski. Location great and will be back. Great spot.
My husband and I stayed at the Snowed Inn during October 2018. We were greeted when we arrived and shown to our room. We had the ‘budget’ queen room. Room was comfortable for two adults. Room included in-room bath, a thermostat to control temperature and also cable tv. Wi-fi was available, but seemed to be spotty in the room. Coffee, tea and water were always available which was so nice after coming back from a full day of hiking and touring. Vending machine, ice machine and fridge was also available to guest. Breakfast was very good. All served buffet style including diy waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt with and assortment of toppings including berries and granola. Also, available was toast, English muffins, bagels and a spice bread. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning sitting in the front area sun room. It had the greatest views. Our only disappointment was having the same choices for breakfast each morning. It would have been nice for a change up every few days.
