this building is very old and when it rains it is impossible to be in it, because the mold that blooms in the walls and starts to stink. people who have allergies develop breathing problems. When we were resting there, I slept on the street, in the car, because I almost choked

The property is historic and beautiful and it was very relaxing staying in a room in the mansion proper. My only complaint is the bed was not very comfortable and it made it hard to get a good night's rest.

Property location was very good. Landscaping and outside of appearance was also very good. House, however, needs updating. Staff was not prepared or organized very well....especially for breakfast on the first day of our 2-day stay.

Love location, nice decor, pleasant staff. Unique property with history.

The Hartness House was amazing !!! Wonderful and Historic, and kept that way on the inside too. There were a few small things I brought to the Managers attention. The website listed a Fitness center, A restaurant, and DVD player in the room. The restaurant had closed in May. (but working on getting something up and running soon.) Fitness center was closed for good, but, they will give passes to Fitness center next door.(they just did not offer me one?) and after picking out movies to watch, and staff left for the night, we had no DVD player in the room. Overall, the Inn was impressive !!!

Interesting history. Friendly staff. Fun tour of tunnels amd museum.

I had a non-refundable reservation to stay overnight to visit a dying relative. Due to family circumstances, I needed to change my plans and the owner was very understanding and cooperative. When I return, I will definitely return the gratitude and plan a stay at the Hartness House.

All of the pictures and all of the descriptions for this hotel are around the beautiful mansion. What you don't see or read is that the majority of the guest rooms are in the back motel-like structure. There is a very good chance that you will be staying back there and not in the building that is advertised. The included breakfast was very good and the staff was great.
